I’ll carry the cross

Recommended Posts

The guitar is such a great instrument for self expression. These one on ones (vocal + guitar) can seem to come directly from the soul. The message of the song will likely resonate with some. I had a little trouble finding the structure of the song though I think the intended message came through and overall the vocals fit the guitar well.. The vocals could use some tuning or retakes here and there, they were off just a tad here and there. Not by much.

Dig those lyrics, and your vocals "carry" a ton of raw energy and emotion.

After he is done carrying the cross, he might consider adding some bass elements into the mix and bringing the drums up. But as you said, you are at the scratchpad stage. It's a great start.

HI Alan.
reminds me a little of Larry Norman and Barry McGuire.

Sipping whiskey from a paper cup
You drown your sorrows till you can't stand up
Take a look at what you've done to yourself
Why don't you put the bottle back on the shelf
Yellow fingers from your cigarettes
Your hands are shaking while your body sweats
Why don't you look into Jesus, He's got the answer
Gonorrhea on Valentines Day
And you're still looking for the perfect lay
You think rock and roll will set you free
You'll be deaf before your thirty three
Shooting junk till your half insane
Broken needle in your purple vein

Your song and voice has a lot of potential.

Thank you for the feedback. The family went to a super bowl party so I took a couple hours to play with this idea and sing, which I can’t down people are in the house. I so appreciate your comments. Many thanks.
