Pete Laramee 6 Posted January 11, 2020 (edited) I'm mixing this proggy song for my new project with a few ups and downs. Tell me if I'm on the right track. I may need to just minimize the overall compressor. Also, tell me if the guitar/keys solos are even. I've been going through a SAGA phase and I'm doubling my guitar lead with the keys. emeraldsoul 1,074 Posted January 11, 2020 Way fun. Prog in 5. All of your guitars, drums, and keyboard parts are mixed great. I'd bump up the presence of that bass - if anything, you need more foundation to support the brilliance of what is going on upstairs. When it breaks into the 4/4, I really like your instrumentation and guitar features in that section! cheers, -Tom
DeeringAmps 784 Posted January 12, 2020 Well done, there's some fine guitar playing there! Tom liked that ZP Bridge as well...
Wookiee 879 Posted January 12, 2020 Overtones of Mr. Fripp and King Crimson in the somewhat repetitive riff in the opening minute or so. MIx sounds OK though as Tom notes a little more on the bottom end would be nice.
Jesse Screed 308 Posted January 12, 2020 very well done Peter! Inspiring! Some great guitar work. You are talented my friend. Dang, I am left with nothing else to say. Welcome back, you and your music have been sorely missed.
Pete Laramee 6 Posted January 12, 2020 Thanks for taking the time to listen. I tweaked the bass eq and volume (and updated the link), but I think I'm going to have to make more adjustments to the volume envelope for the bass.

You know, I recently went on your soundclick page looking for the "she puts butter on the toast" song, but I couldn't find it. Hopefully you didn't delete it.
