So I'm struggling just a little bit with mixing so I was wondering if cakewalk has any equivalent to the fruity limiter or is there any plug in that automatically limits the volume of the track -
Hello fellow Cakewalkers! I keep encountering an intermittent problem when mixing: When I am exporting a session, I get 88 mS of silence in the midst of a mix. It is never in the same place in the song and I do not always get this "glitch" when I EXPORT, I would say I get this issue 75% of the time. Track count is 14, plug in count is 46. I am using TWO External Inserts to hardware. I am using the latest version of Cakewalk By Bandlab: Version 2022.11 My computer is a Dell Laptop, model G15 with an Intel i7-12700H processor, 16 GB of RAM, Windows 11, Version 22H2. Audio Interface is an RME FF802 with the latest ASIO driver. In Audio Settings: I am using ASIO, sample rate is 48 kHz, 24 bits. I have tried setting the latency buffer to 512, 1024 and 2048 samples, this does not fix my problem 64 bit engine is checked ON "Use Multiprocessing engine" is checked ON "Use MMCSS" is checked ON, "Enable MMCSS for ASIO driver" is checked off in Cakewalk and in the RME interface Configuration file: I have tried setting "ThreadSchedulingModel" to 2 or 3, it doesn't seem to make any difference. I have tried setting "ExtraPlugInBufs" from 0 to 128 and points in between, that doesn't seem to fix the problem either. I have increased "Playback I/O Buffer Size (kB)" from 256 to 512 to000 1024, that doesn't fix the problem either. "MinPluginLoadBalancingBufferSamples" is set to 192 I have tried setting the laptop to Airplane Mode, this doesn't help either. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Chris -
I recently got the Archetype Gojira Plugin and want to controll it's whammy pedal with the EV-1-WL. I heard that I need to open the plugin as a midi track but I don't know how to do that. Can anybody help me?

Link to my post yesterday. The shift-key solution suggested a day ago worked pretty well, my projects opened smoothly, no pop up or lack of sound or whatever. But just now, the problem is at it again and this pop-up appears when I try to open it. And it's even worse When I press Yes to All, the program closes itself again. When I press No to All, the program opens, but all the MIDI tracks I already programmed/made don't make a sound. Note that when I add new tracks though, they still make sound. But I don't want to start from square one, and have this problem roll around again the next day. It seems like a VST/plugin problem considering the way my projects open when I choose No to All in the pop -up. But I want to know, what on earth screws up in the system when I open projects some time after working with them? I opened this project twice yesterday (1 PM, 11 PM) and there was no issue, but more than 18 hours later (right now it's 6 PM) it's stubborn again. This is so frustrating. I don't want to do this every time I want to work on my projects.

Hello. I've been using Cakewalk for recording vocals consitently for about 4 months now. I've downloaded a lot of plug-ins by TDR and also Melda Production and I've used the same plug-ins on almost every recording with almost the same settings. My audio interface is Focusrite iTrack Solo and my mic is Audio Technica AT2020 Condenser Microphone. Yesterday, when I finished recording another song I went to do my mixing but I experienced a quite interesting problem. When I was adding effects in the same order as of previous recordings on my FX chain I was hearing a little distortion in the recording and it also became a little quieter. I ran back to my old recordings to hear my old vocals with the same plug-ins and settings and there wasn't any sign of distortion from them. I tried upping my buffer size to 1024 samples when mixing but that didn't help. I also exported the problematic recording to hear if there is any distortion in the finished process and there it was again. I'm a bit clumsy with my hands and I could've made a mess in the config of Cakewalk but I even reinstalled the program and also restart the config. Maybe it's just my mixing skills who are messing up the recording but I have used the same settings for the past 4 months and I don't know what to do. I've searched in the web for "plug-in distortion issue" and even "cakewalk plug-in distortion issue" and I came upon some advice but unfortunately it didn't workout for me. If someone can help I would be deeply grateful and one thing before giving me a solution is to keep the terminology simple because I'm a bit of a noob.

I have an expression pedal connected via a MIDI keyboard. I can connect it via iCON iKeyboard 4 Nano or via M-Audio Oxygen 88. In both cases the expression pedal gives values in a range 0-116. Is there a way to either calibrate a pedal in Cakewalk? Or set some setting on a MIDI track to transform values to spread the values from 0 - 127? Or put some transforming plugin on a MIDI track (I found only a filtering plugin, which is not a pleasing one in this case)? Thank You -

I recently started doing beats with cakewalk. And, I came across problem. I tried to make phonk and my problem was that i couldn't found a way how to make melody from 808 cowbell. In stuf like FL studio, etc. there is something like chanell rack where you can imput sound. So, I am asking if you know any way how to do it (plugin, feature, ...)

I have some projects that still have the missing plugins but they won't show up in the Browser. I've tried loading 32-bit and 64-bit and works though rarely. Any help is appreciated.

I came back to using Cakewalk after a brief break and now my SI instruments no longer work and instead give me a pop-up asking for registration. The link to register goes to the defunct old Cakewalk site. I've also confirmed that the SI instruments are checked as an available add-on within the Bandlab Assistant. I'm not sure what to do in order to regain access to these instruments. -
