About Me

  1. Got the following issue; i want to use the synths in kontakt as multitracks and i am not able to get Kontakt to respond on anything but midi channel 1. I want to have say an oboe on midi channel 1 and a clarinett on midi channel 2. Midi channel 1 is working fine, but as soon as i try using channel 2 or higher, nogo. Guess there is something im missing in setting the whole thing up? Or are there any known bugs with sonar & kontakt?
  2. I have a Presonus Digimax FS going into an RME Frireface 800 using ADAT and it will not record in Cakewalk. I set it to the correct ADAT in Cakewalk and same input in Windows 10 settings. The mic test in Windows shows the mic working but it will not record in Cakewalk by BL or in Sonar Platinum. I can record using the analog inputs just fine. I am attaching a screenshot. I am using ADAT 4 (ADAT3 right) and when I select the analog it records just fine but ADAT shows no levels in the meter.
  3. I bought the thoman studio starterkit 2014.31.10. It included Sonar X3 LE which had some good VSTs i want to use (even its not the updated version). Because I had to set up my PC new, Cakewalk Sonar x3 LE was deleted from my PC and i lost my serial key for it. I wanted to verify it again, but I can't find the product key and cant access my account because I didn't visit the account before 2014 and the registration is disabled now. there is also no email support. what can I do? im hobby musician and student so i rly dont have the money to buy the VSTs as standalone... besides... I already bought it.... i rly would love to have some support contact... thank you for your help! Max
  4. Hi everyone, I'm a new user here, just recently downloading Cakewalk by Bandlab for a windows install on a new SSD. I have been using Sonar Professional for a while now, with Rapture Session installed. According to documentation I found, it seems that this software is still supported so long as it is installed on the same system. I have been trying to re-download this software on the Cakewalk site, but I no longer remember my password there, and I'm not receiving the password reset email when i click the link, either. Does anyone know of a way to still get support for this account, or otherwise re-download the software? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
  5. I've been a Cakewalk user for 20+ years, and I am so excited that it continues to live on. I was on SPLat, and didn't want to make the jump until Bandlab picked up the franchise. While doing this I noticed a cool feature a fried used in Studio One to test out arrangements and easily rearrange sections in the song. I'd like to see something similar to this. I do a lot R&B/Pop music, and this would make it a lot more easier to move groups of tracks within sections around to experiment with different arrangements. They call them The Arranger and Scratchpad in Studio One. This would be an awesome and helpful feature to add. Instead of grabbing individual tracks, you can could select a bar which represented that section and grab all the tracks as a group and place them in different parts of the song (in time). Hope this finds your eyes and ears well!! I Love Cakewalk!!!
  6. I came across two CDs in perfect condition while cleaning out my garage. 1) The Sonar Home Studio installation disc. 2) An XL Pack that includes all the stuff listed in my tags to this post. This XL Pack was included with the Sonar Home Studio installation disc. The first CD installation disc is unneeded, correct, because I am using the free downloaded Cakewalk by Bandlab? I'd like to know then how to utilize the Sonar XL Pack.......... with Cakewalk by Bandlab. (The XL Pack add-ons are not included in the free Bandlab Cakewalk, correct?) I bought a DVD writer to upload the XL Pack CD to my computer, but have not hooked up the DVD writer yet. Thanks, Bob
  7. Was browsing through this forum, expecting to find a place you could report bugs in the Cakewalk software. But could not find anything. How do you report errors in the software?
  8. So, what an interesting surprise it has been, coming back and catching up on the Cakewalk news of the last 3 years after taking a long break from any sound and music production. I invested a lot on STEAM with Sonar, its upgrades, sample libraries and some plugins. When I originally saw that Cakewalk was acquired and that Sonar was being killed off, I basically came to terms and tried my best to forget about my investments and I have since distanced myself from any form of audio production, until now. Slowly getting back into this world and trying to piece back together the pieces... I was quite amazed to realize that Sonar Platinum has now basically been released for free with support. This excited me and I immediately started researching how to get my other Sonar Platinum related purchases on STEAM working with Cakewalk by Bandlab, but it feels messy and it might have been false hope... First off, I tried re-installing Sonar Platinum with a Lifetime pass on STEAM, but it requests my email address which is then rejected with this error message: At this point I discovered Cakewalk by Bandlab and how to install it. At first, I was satisfied with my loss with this replacement, but what about all of the plugins etc. ? I read on other forums that Cakewalk by Bandlab should easily discover and utilize your previous Sonar Platinum plugins, but it seems like it would only if you never uninstalled Steam Platinum after it died. I have not tried installing all of my purchases yet, but these are the issues I have encountered so far; CA-2A Leveling Amplifier: Rapture Session & Pro: Has anyone else here successfully migrated from STEAM with full use of their previous purchases? Should I give up, or is there a way to continue where I left off? Thanks for reading, I hope someone can have some useful feedback.

In the meantime please follow the link below to the channel and give me some feedback MAKING CREATIVITY INSPIRE Thanks everyone!
  10. Hey, I’ve finally bought a Mac. But the product I have previously purchased on Cakewalk is Sonar X1 LE which I purchased for a PC is it possible to obtain the Mac version of the download to install on my Mac? I downloaded the link in my products page - but upon installation it said it was windows only. I only have this installed on one computer - and the license is for two. But is there a way to get the Mac version?
  11. Do I need an internet connection, once I've downloaded and updated Cakewalk by Bandlab? right now I have Sonar Artist installed, but I'm curious about BandLab. I Only use Sonar with No Plugins for live use. Mainly for the Song list Feature and opening different projects for live use. I would like to use it without an internet connection. Thank you in advance! micdim
  12. Hello ! it will be more than 8 months since I have a valid license key for Sonar Home Studio and Cakewalk Rapture Session that I still can not use. I have a non active Cakewalk account and I was wondering if there would be a way to solve it. because I'd love to use Rapture Session
  13. Midi keyboard-controller (KORG microKEY-61) does not work I'm currently making decision for my new DAW; I have installed Cakewalk and would like to buy Sonar Professional. when I load a softwaresynthesizer, it can not be played by keyboard. Voreinstellungen - MIDI - Geräte: microKEY-61 1 KEYBOARD and microKEY-61 1 CTRL are shown both as active (see uploaded image) curious: KORG microKEY-61 works without problems using the following DAWs: - MAGIX Samplitude Music Studio 2010 - Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio (demo) - Reaper (demo) so it should not be a MIDI-config problem of Windows 7 any help is highly appreciated best regards Peter
  14. Don't know what I did, but whenever I expand a track now I don't have all the info (volume, pan, patch etc) that was there prior. How do I get this back?
  15. Can I use Cakewalk to work on my songs that were created in Sonar Platinum?
  16. Just the last few days Sonar has been crashing with various messages - "not enough disk space" (I have over a terabyte available), "there are no audio devices for the current driver model on your system" (gee, it was working 5 minutes ago with my Apollo 8 thunderbolt), also a lot of "corrupt audio region" and "silent busses", none of which I can account for with simple guitar and vocal tracks. Could this all be something to do with the July Windows updates or is BandLab just insisting I install the newest update?
  17. Hello all, Just wondering if there's any benefit to keep Cakewalk Command Center around. I don't think I've noticed any updates since Bandlab took over. I am having some issues with Melodyne and I'm wondering if it has to do with Command Center. It's showing as having version 1.0001.something meanwhile I've downloaded the latest version which says 4.2. On a related note, any reason to keep Sonar Professional? Thank you
  18. I have not downloaded CbB yet. Am just getting back to using Platinum on a project, but it crashes constantly, with fault (fatal) error messages, both when trying to export audio as a wave file, or just playing back tracks. I recently purchased System Mechanic software and found that it automatically was "fixing" my computer, including cleaning the registry. I wonder if that might have something to do with my problem. I'm wondering if I need to reinstall Platinum, and if that would fix it. The module where the errors occurred was indicated as "cakewalk\vstplugins\Dimension Pro\Dimension Pro x64.dll." Crash dump files were forwarded to Bandlab. Any help to be able to get back to work would be much appreciated!
  19. Hi, I recently installed the cakewalk software using the Bandlab assistant. While installing I chose the Studio instrument suite add on. When I load cakewalk, I see that the studio instruments plugins are getting categorized as FX making it impossible for me to use as instruments. Any idea what I can do to correct this? Here is how it looks like:
  20. Hi, I wanna know if it's possible to transfer my license of Cakewalk Sonar to another user.
  21. I'm using Splice sound samples with Sonar x2. After I preview a sample in Splice there is a big delay before the sound on Sonar kicks back in. Sonar actually hangs a bit, unfreezes and then after 1- seconds the sound is back on. Thinking it's something to do with my interface - Presonus Fire Studio - and/or maybe sampling or latency or buffer settings. Anyone experiencing this or know a fix ?
