When manually editing the CC lane I'd like to set one value at a time. I put the the smart cursor in the CC lane on a controller I want to edit. Smart tool has chosen the pencil tool. I left click. Nothing happens. If I want point to appear I have to drag a little. Depending on the quantization value I now have several points. I only wanted one. So I (with annoying precision) delete the extras till I get one (for easy adjustment). Why do I have to left-click-drag to insert CC values? Insertion of a single CC value at the point of the cursor over the CC control lane would simplify my work flow. This has always driven me crazy. I've been using Cakewalk since DOS and after it was abandoned I grudgingly bought CuBase but I still prefer Cakewalk. And it has only taken twenty years for me to make the suggestion. David Thiel

I use Cakewalk to compose midi music and I need to draw expression curves (mainly CC1, CC11, CC7, ...). I have noticed that when you record the CC curves from the controller or drawing them, thousands of points are generated. This shouldn't be a problem... but when you have more than 20 instruments simultaneously with thousands of CC points playing, Cakewalk starts to suffer and slows down. This is a pain. In addition, the file size and save time are increased. And the "autosave" is activated continuously because any small modification in a line implies thousands of changed points (thousands of events that triggers autosave). Would it be possible to manage CC commands as "lines" or "spline lines", like the volume and pan lines in the general view? This would decrease the stored CC nodes and make Cakewalk lighter when working with many instruments.

There are times when it is advantageous to select all controllers in a lane quickly. Click-dragging isn't always thorough and time can be wasted searching for the elusive "phantom" cc. It would be cool to select all CC data by shift+clicking the Edit Filter "G" (controller name box).
