Hi there, I think this is a very nice list of features overall, but I've also selected a few that I think are more important. And also, I will add a few more:

1. Parameter linking/modulation for every single setting in a plugin, PC module, channel, or bus. This will allow for a vast range of possibilities for mixing setups and options.

2. Enhancement of Routing-Patching capabilities. I think for this one the devs can take some inspiration from Reaper's routing options. In my experience, they are superior and they allow for invaluable flexibility and faster workflow, so it would be great if Cakewalk had similar options as well. I think they would be well-paired with Cakewalk's own patch points. And this brings to the next suggestion:

3.Adding a virtual Patch-bay. This would give us the option to view and edit all the routing options of the whole project in one place, and would also make it easier to see what's going on and change the routing. I think the patchbay would also make patch points easier to use, as it would provide a visual representation of what's happening behind the scenes. It should also allow us to patch anything to anything else, be it channel, bus, hardware input/output, plugin or PC module.

4.More options for aux sends, such as the ability to flip the polarity for a send.

The above suggestions were actually inspired by Dan Worrall's mixing tips videos, but I think having these options would be useful for every music produce/engineer and would make Cakewalk a much more powerful DAW than it currently is.

PS: I also think it would be a perfect addition to the new Sonar, encouraging more people to buy it (or at least me personally, if all the above features are integrated on Sonar, I would definitely like to pay for it).

Wow, it is really mind blowing what one can achieve with a free daw. 🔥

You actually don't need to do this. Look, I had exactly the same problem, don't worry, it is a very simple fix. First of all, you should look for the path the Cakewalk templates (.cwt) are gonna be in. Usually there are two  paths, "C:\Users\blah\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core" and "C:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core\Project Templates". If there are no templates in either of these folders, they have to be somewhere else in folders related to Cakewalk by bandlab. If you you cannot find them no matter what, You can download them from here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1y3ZR47tGki_J34-t4FSqff0ffwVTCE8G?usp=sharing

After having downloaded them, you can choose a folder to put them in, whether it is one of Cakewalk's default folders (the ones above), or whichever you want to put them in.

And here is the important part you should not forget! After putting the templates in your selected folder, you should open Cakewalk with the Bandlab assistant and ignore the empty "New Project" tab . Then go to preferences, and under the file section, go to folder locations. There you can select the path to your templates in the Templates selection. After clicking "Apply" and then "Close" and then restarting the daw, the templates should be showing up where the are supposed to every time you opne the program.

Hi there,

My name is John and recently I have been trying to install Cakewalk by Bandlab to my pc. The Bandlab Assistant was installed and waorked just fine, but when I am trying to install Cakewalk, the following error shows up near the end of the install. If I select "Try again", nothng happens.  If I selecto "cancel installation", the program will simply not be installed. If I select "Skip this file", the program will continue its installation, but every time I open it, the "New project" tab in the Cakewalk start screen shows nothing. How can I fix this?
