I can't log in there anymore... Forgot my password but the e-mail address I used to register there, one I had for over fifteen years, was compromised and so I can't reset... I suppose I could pester Ed or Bob but I feel like I'm being a bit of a PITA...

Place I hang out the most nowadays is https://www.ambientonline.org/ but I can't see anyone here being interested in that, you mostly being rock/pop/country peeps.

Ed or Bob would get you in no bother mate.

Eddie Izzard, Billy Connolly, Peter Kay all good but how about Joe Brand or Kevin Bridges in the mix ... all U'K,ies, but the US has (had) Richard  Pryor, David Chapelle among the greats and can crack me up ... how about the worst ?? WOe  ( Kudos to Bill Bailey..  respect !!) To get ya started Nina Conti (Nice NF)

I like Kevin Bridges, funny bloke. Never found Pryor funny tbh.

Instead of having a ton of splintered forums, tell people exactly what you want from your post.

If you want criticism to the subatomic level, say that in your post and I'm sure you'd get it.

    Exactly right.

I didn't know Lee Evans had retired. That's a shame. (well, not for him I guess)  I always wondered why he used to wear suits all the time when he was clearly dripping with sweat after about 10 minutes.

Saw an interview with him where he said that he had his stage suits made with double sewn seams otherwise they'd just fall apart after a couple of gigs. Never seen anyone sweat as much as him.

  5. This is a good song, I like how the vocal and guitars fit together, really nice. I would get rid of Boost 11 straight away, it's not doing the mix any favours. Agree with Lynn about the brightness on the guitars.

With a little work this will be very nice, cool live feel to it.

  6. Hate to do this, but the guitar in the left channel is really distracting through headphones. I might pull that down, in towards the centre a little and tame the high end a bit. Quite a nice song with some cool chord changes, could use a stronger melody though.

  7. Yep, very tasteful legato guitar playing over some nice chord changes.  The drums let it down for me, needs some dynamics to respond to what you're doing. Is that a soprano sax ? I like that sound, reminds me of Andy Sheppard's playing on  John Martyn's Cooltide album.

  8. 'Nice track' indeed 😄 It's an extremely accomplished piece of work, highly cinematic and beautifully arranged. The tension and release at the end is expertly done. One of your best Dan, really excellent.

For a guy who grew-up on Samuel Johnson, GK Chesterton, and Russell Kirk, the lyrics didn't appeal to me, but I liked the music. I still think the vox could be a little louder.

Yeah but none of those guys could play slide guitar.

  10. Hi Lynn, good song with convincing vocal and guitar performances. Another vote to push the vocals up a little, piano down a little.  My main crit is the drums, I was waiting for a solid backbeat to hit and drive the song along but it never came, that made the verses seem a bit 'sticky' to me.
