Thanks Pavlov! I did listen to these on the OTS website. As you say the Vintage Gent video only reveals a very small sampling of the total presets. Glad to hear that there many other good crunchy presets!

I have the Hollowbody Blues which I like a lot. Does anyone own both the Jazz Archtop and the Vintage Gentleman? Which do you prefer or find yourself using more? Which of the two would best compliment the Hollybody Blues? Thanks!!!

I'm not a fan of the movie theme packs. They all sound a bit cliché to me.

I've been eagerly listening to the preset demos on the Orange Tree website. I already own the Evolution Rock Standard, but I've got my eye on the Vintage Gent, the Dry Relic, and possibly the Indie Rock.  Actually I'm torn between the Indie Rock and the Strat. Likewise I'm torn between the Dry Relic and the Songwriter. The Vintage Violin Bass sounds amazing too!

I don't own it, but I did listen to the demo songs for the e-instrument Wurli. It's not horrible but not great either. In general, if a company has a substandard emulation of a real instrument they often try to sell you on the cool "sound design" aspects of the plug-in.  Also, nowhere does e=instruments mention the number of layers, which is essentially saying - not very many layers. Broken Wurli has 9 layers. Acoustic Samples' Wurlie has 10. Perhaps more so than other instruments, a Wurli needs a good transition between smooth and outright growl.

It is definitely a matter of personal taste, and this is going to sound a bit squishy, but for me, Acoustic Samples has the best Wurlitzer tone and Soniccouture's Broken Wurli has the best Wurlitzer vibe. 

I love Broken Wurli !!! It has so much character! The optional broken speaker really hits the mark for me.

But, but, but,  what about my prized UAD Pultec Passive EQ Collection? The interface looks super old school vintage! Surely this has the special analog mojo. I buy the vintage looking gear because I want to cosplay audio engineer. Someone needs to shut this guy up.  He is spoiling all the fun!

2024 appears to be the year of the bundle. Everybody is now offering multiple different bundles. Home, auto, boat, compressors… you name it, and its is a bundle!

Does anyone who purchased this deal have comments on “Bad Speaker?”  Having listened to the demos I have to say that it is well named. “Bad Speaker” sounds really… bad. I was having a hard time finding the magic in the badness.  Perhaps I need to download the demo to really appreciate it.

Not to gloat, but yes it was an incredible deal and it was only $142 for everything.  .

My advice is never buy individual plugins from Universal Audio. If you can afford to do so, buy the bundles when they are sale, Ideally around black Friday. All the new native plugins coming out now will be in the next newly branded bundle for sure.

I don't understand Softube! They could have made a lot of money if they gave it for say $10 - $15. And I think the marketing effect would have been about the same!

I think the logic is that once people own one of the compressors, they will likely buy the remaining two to complete the "Icons Compressor Collection". Hell, this might work on me.
