You can pretty much do ALL of that using the Cakewalk Plugin Manager:

    [...]

[Edit] - The Cakewalk Plugin Manager has it's own offline help file, so clicking the help button will actually give you more info on how to use layouts etc.

Yep, and I can also do many things in Windows by using regedit ;)  But it is not fast and convenient if you are going to do changes often.

Everything can be done in one way or the other. Things is about workflow and saving time which is most precious asset, just after health.

I am aware of layer manager as I wrote and tried to use it long time ago. Did some layer. But try to update layers with it every time you add new plugs or change mind about something or testing something.  It is slow and not workflow masterpiece . Try to imagine facing challenge I described.

Try to use it to fast switch.

You have f.e. 1000+ plugs, doing lots of changes, trying to keep in sync more than 1 computer.

It is not about something is completely impossible (after all I can also locate .dll in windows explorer using wild cards) but if workflow is poor it is getting unusable if amount of plugins grows.

I stopped to used layer because it is slow, painful and cannot waste time every time I do some (re)installs.

Please try to do some layers using it and install new plugins and modify it, and then change mind about visibility.

It is ok (but still slow and inconvenient) if you are to prepare more or less fixed platform. But for many changes not such useful, after sitting hours you just give up and live with mess.

For instance in Studio One to show/hide plugin just click 'mange plugins' icon and then click at circle close to plugin to show/hide. That's it.

Of course S1 lacks many features of layer manger so it is no match. But we are talking about creating something with optimal (the least possible amount of click and seconds for waiting to reach goal).

Don't take me wrong. I believe it is good for many people. Who has not huge amount of plugins or just need to such management once per - let's say - year.

Let me use king of real life example from house. If you need cut a wooden beam you can use ordinal saw. And in fact you can cut almost everything with your saw.

But if you need to do it very often and also in more tricky cases to save time you could buy electrical saw.

@Noel Borthwick has already indicated that improvements to the browser for plugin management are in the pipeline.

For the meantime however, the Cakewalk Plugin Manager does most of the duties you've mentioned, and of course is much faster to use now.

Thanks for info. Good to know we can expect improvements soon, :)

Unfortunately current browser it is not doing what I mentioned but maybe my broken English said not precisely what I meant. My apologies for that :)

For instance (2019.03 installed of course btw):

    - hide VST2 versions of some plugins and VST3 of the others  (but not uninstall because would like to be able switch visibility fast VST2<->VST3 without performing new install in case if any issue).

Do we have Waves plugins?     For instance H-reverb has 17 variations showed in plugin browser.  How cool would be to be able to hide selectively what is not in our interest? I don't use 5.0/5.1 system so gladly I would hide them in browser (in Studio One we can do it).

    - be able to store on server my hard work to put plugins in my custom categories and when OS crashed and needed to reinstall or moving to other computer  just to connect to my profile and import it  (in fact it would be nice to have any customization kept on user profile on server to be able fast and smoothly restore them).

I am using 2 computers in 2 different cities and keeping them in sync is a really pain. To make things even harder I also have 2 different profiles for every of those computers (they are running win10 but have secondary profile with Win7). You could imagine how hard it to keep in sync all 4 profiles (especially win7 are rarely used mostly in case of Win10 unrecoverable crash (what happen few times) or fast testing an issue with program.

    - to be able at level of plugin browser see exact path on disk on status bar to be able locate it not search in windows explorer and also directly delete plugin (and also move its location). And of course -  I am GAS infected - so I desperately need to be able perform every operation also on group selected plugins

Generally to be able to perform selectively any plugin management action on group of plugins at browser level.  Including removal from disk (as most installs are just putting .dll or .vst3 into directories).

Of course I appreciate improvements  made in Platinum long time ago about plugs browser but things is when you have really huge amount of plugins (it is not rare after scan have discovered 1000+) every not needed additional operation is multiplied.

Of course we have layer manger and it is very useful in some cases but not really handful if we want to change fast and often (in fact after installing new plugin it could be need to modify a little view).

It would be nice to do it at browser level and for instance after it could internally save as layer to be able do some changer in layer manger if someone prefers or there is a reason.

Thks guyz , it's a cool features for sure ... but i would love enhacement in plugin layout , seeing plugins guys would be great , multi plugin docking , ect ...

Agree. And plugin browser is kind of over-simplistic... It would be nice to be able to perform any possible plugin related action at its level.

No possibility to selectively hide/show/remove plugin to fine tune what is showed. Also some details about location in status bar.  Creating custom assignments to categories stored in user profile on server - to easily import/export between different machines and survive crash. More customization. Etc... Lots still to improve...

Also many plugin providers create kind of mindless install which are trashing space and introduce total mess... Like forcing installing 32-bit plugins, or aax for people who don't have pro tools, or putting at steinberg dirs etc...  Cool and powerful plugin browser could help a lot.

GAS affected people need browser which is state of art :)  We have hundreds plugins...

Just got to test this and it's pretty nice!

Yup, I got license  some hours ago, but anyway having demo for 14 days no pressure at all, could survive any propagation troubles.  Next will be gate which is Slate native so should not be problems with license distribution over the world. And next TH-U which I already have as upgrade from TH3,

The only things which bothers me is what will be purpose of the second promised gate. Tried to ask Steven but he didn't answer. Maybe missed my question or it is still kind of secret (no date announced yet).

    Thanks Larry.  :)

Yep, I know, installation was no problem just lack of active license was not letting to use plugin (during vst scan asking for license and plugin was blocked).

At this moment, 2 h later,  license still not in my account in EB.

But I applied demo license in the meantime of waiting for ilok account update so can play with it till it arrives :) Like it,  nice thing :)

  6. Still not in my bundle :(

But GAS affected person is like a zombie. Cannot wait...

I used license from Liquid Sonic for demo... It gives 14 days so enough time for ilok licenses updates for EB.

"To begin a demo please install the full software available from the tabs above and register the iLok code below in iLok License Manager:
    1211-9044-5162-3365-6251-5462-6104-24

The demo will function for a period of 14 days. After this time a full license is required to continue using the software. "

It s the last two when you go to by collection list in the amp list in the fender collection one list.

Yep :( You have sharp eyes.

Checked also in custom shop and there is info about for example '65 Princeton Reverb

    Included in:

    AmpliTube MAX Bundle

    AmpliTube MAX Bundle Crossgrade

while for example '59 Bassman has:

    Fender® Collection

    AmpliTube MAX Bundle

    AmpliTube MAX Bundle Crossgrade

    Fender® Collection Power DUO Bundle

So seems no mistake on www. It is a pity. Even buying both Fender bundles not to have all Fender gears :(

Correct.  I have SmartEQ 2, which I upgraded from one.  Frei:raum is basically
a combination of SmartEQ, Entropy, and Proximity...

Yup, but can be optionally moved to ilok if needed on many computers.

I had troubles with licenses numbers installed (using few machines/profiles and it refused me to work as license was assigned despite of not used in the same time). I didn't want to fight with it every time I am changing profile or machine so asked support and they were so kind to move my licenses to ilok account.

Yep, in such cases it has advantages ;) I need ilok dongle anyway for different soft. Only problem not to forget to take dongle with me when I am moving to different city.

Yes, they will have the new GUI.

Note that the free version will not include resizing, floating meters, 192 kHz/32-bit floating point, Equal gain option, or signature presets from the industry's top engineers per the What's New section of https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/tr5cs/

Those are available by upgrading to T-RackS 5, T-RackS 5 Deluxe or T-RackS 5 MAX. T-RackS 5 CS supports projects up to 48kHz and features basic metering functions. Presets require specific modules which might not be part of this version of T-RackS 5. You can however download any processor for FREE and test them for 14 days before purchase.

Yep,  and this is leading to my favorite question, Peter, how could I (and people in similar situation) upgrade in reasonable way from TR4MAX (+all 4 TR5 new modules) to TR5MAX .

Answer I got from IK sales, thanks to your kind help, to check into my account for crossgrade offers (what of course I did long time ago not just once- and no, 256EUR using JamPoints for this couldn't be considered as reasonable):(

Or maybe I should stop thinking about upgrading? In fact do we really need to upgrade everything ?  For 256EUR I could grab few excellent deals for VSTi.

The more IK soft stuff user has the less reasonable offers are for him for some.  So in my humble opinion you are losing money you could grab from people who have a lot of IK stuff.  Finally I will get used not to have everything at the newest and maybe will thank IK for such politics letting me to save more money.

    Sounds even worse to me:

This feature requires that the computer is continuously connected to the internet during use.

Well, in such case, correction, it means for me unusable :)

Additional background task during work to check license over network and possible affect latency...

They could at least create some kind of token transferred for session time. Kind of similar to Waves.

Well, I can forget about it. Fortunately have free USB ports so can use ilok dongle.

Just discovered that the Komplete Kontrol library works with the new Waves Flow Motion synth.

Nice to have a decent preset browser for Flow Motion, with tags for sound type and/or character in Komplete Kontrol vs. the tiny pull-down menus in the Waves UI. If you select just the single instrument in the KK library, only presets for that one will show up in the list.

Since it also works with Waves Element 2.0, I assume that any Waves synth may be compatible.

Not only Waves. Almost everything compatible with NKS like AAS, Arturia, Sonokinetic and more :)

You know how naive this sounds?  The universe and all life created by God but you don't worship God.  A computer and software invented by men, and you are in awe.

We cannot cure cancer, but we can blow the world up several times over.

Computers that now are capable of processing voice recognition on phone calls and credit card expenditures to know what you like to buy so your human overlords can spy and censor you, but you still are in awe.

No wisdom at all.  Did you ever see the movie Terminator?  hello?

And no computer ever invented anything.  There's always a human behind it all.  But the heart of man is wicked and utterly deceitful.  Who can comprehend it.

Have you ever heard a computer create a concerto or sonata?  Nope, and never will.

Don't mind me.  Just a rant.

What can I say? Did you read what go game master beaten by AI said about style of the winner, AlphaGo machine? If computer never invented anything how it is possible human go master learned something from machine?  I am saying it was computer self-awareness or something... Famous humans invented many things in history by accident, something even not understanding what was the meaning of this.

Is it to be naive when relating to facts?  It was 3 years ago.  Do you believe random machine power could beat top go player? And you are calling me naive? ;)

I don't understand completely why you are writing about God in context of technology development?  How religion relates to technology?

It is kind of surprising you are on one side relating to God and on the other you are attacking me personally. We can be different in opinion but I believe first rule of good behavior is not to attack person.  Please don't even try to estimate my respect for God. It is offending. You have no idea. So don't try it.

Kind of 'You cannot name yourself a policeman when breaking a law.'

"Have you ever heard a computer create a concerto or sonata?  Nope, and never will." - how can you be so sure? Are you God?

Correct me if I am wrong He is the Only One than can know everything about future?  Are you so self-confident you can be sure where are limits for science ?  Do you remember history of science and where people tried to put its limits 100 years ago? And how did it go?

Of course I am familiar with s-f classics. But I am humbly asking you please study current science advance before you are so confidentially write such definitive sentences about its progress or prognosis.  You could be surprised.

And btw I don't feel I have any human overlords. Do you feel this way?

Anyway I believe politics and religion is very private thing for every person and should be respected. Without any judgments or hard guessing (especially without any knowledge).

Why? Because we are good people, right?

I totally agree.  It's all coming down to processing power.   More and more I see that the only limitation on software is the developer's imagination.  It makes me wonder where things will be in 10 years or 50 or 100.

There are even more powerful things sleeping underhood.

Take a look what happened when confronted AI vs human genius - go master. AI crashed him and what is much more interested surprised him by its unique variants for solving problems.  He even learned that lesson in his later games again humans.

Soft emulations are still chasing mostly old, famous and proven gear.  How many ssl, neve, api etc emulations with some improvements?

But how about creation of 'simulation' of analog gear never existed  which is superior to everything done before ? ;)

There are infinite possibilities to shape analog signal (on the final output for humans it is and will be much longer still analog). Many of paths were never discovered. People are not able to explore even small percentage of them. Designing, building, testing is very time consuming. Searching for bug, removing them... AI can its tasks things 24/7, never tired, never losing focus, never sad, or frustrated. Just going over next variants ;)
