  1. I assume that you previously had no problem with CbB until lately? Without any more information, I'd suggest that you check to see if you have auto punch engaged. I've missed this one myself. Good luck.
  2. Very nice. TH-U is one of my favorite amp sims at the moment.
  3. You'll find that preset window in the export window. I tried to illustrate this in my screen pic.
  4. Freddy, as always, thanks for you kind words and time. Yes, the forum has helped very much with this mix. I know we have all benefited from this site. Speaking of collections, yours has grown quite a bit. You and many others keep inspiring me to keep this up, and I appreciate if very much!
  5. Thanks for the explanation, Wayne. I'm eager to see if I can do this in Vegas 12. I do remember your moniker quite well, as I've been a fan for a spell.
  6. Wayne, congratulations on setting the bar so high for the rest of us : ) Terrific song and video! Just curious, which video software are you using?
  7. Do you have "what you hear" checked in the preset window?
  8. Daryl, thanks for listening again and responding. Love your new song!
  9. Alan, I own both SF 12 and Vegas 12. They have been the most reliable and stable software of all I've ever owned. I just wish they were a bit more considerate of customers that recently upgraded with their pricing.
  10. @amiller and Ed D, thanks so much for you time and comments. I really appreciate the comments on the vocals! Take care.
  11. Very nice! This song has a heavy beat which matches the gravitas of the lyrics very well. Speaking of lyrics, yours are quite thought provoking, but they get a little buried by the reverb. Would you consider using a short slap back delay on a light setting? I think it would give you the ambience you want while still allowing the words to be clear and easily understandable. Just a thought. Anyway, congratulations on writing a terrific song!
  12. Daryl, this really grows on you fast. I've listened to this several times, and find it rather addictive. My only suggestion concerns the EQ of the vocal; it got to sounding shrill after a few listens so you might consider turning down the upper mids a bit, or a bit less compression. Otherwise, this is terrific!
  13. Well, Bob took the words right outta my mouth. I especially enjoyed your finger picking style, which I'm very weak on. Plus, I listened to "Lone Wolf" again and was wowed by that song, too. There's a fabulous BBQ joint just down the road from me where you could get a gig at should you ever decide to relocate to KC...
  14. "If you're lookin' for texture, you've come to the right place"
  15. It looks nice, but I just upgraded to SF12 less than a year ago, and now they want $200 more from me to get what I probably should have gotten last year. I think I'll jump off this bandwagon.
  16. Olivier, you chose a great song by a great songwriter to perform, and you pulled it off beautifully. You have one of the most resonant voices going, and you always seem to find the perfect songs for it. As for the volume, it sounds about right on my system, but, rather than lower the ceiling of your limiter, you could raise the threshold instead, and just catch the peaks. Still, a pleasure to listen to.
  17. I love this tapestry of unrequited love. The arrangement is simple, yet deceptive. It draws you in because it leaves room for the listener. I especially like the synth part that weaves its way through the song. My only suggestion would be to try out a warmer reverb on the vocal, as the subject matter is pretty cold to begin with. Other than that, this is a gem!
  18. Douglas, thanks for the kind comment! I never would have thought of EC, but I'm very flattered.
  19. Wow, what a terrific vibe and song. You've created a vivid story which goes perfectly with the funky attitude of the music. I need to listen to this song a few more times to get totally acquainted with it, as it has quite a few elements that require more attention. Kudos!
  20. Wookie, thanks for taking the time to listen to this again. Your comments and those of others are greatly appreciated!
  21. I just read where you're using acoustic drums and not samples; therefor, overdubbing (adding) may not be the way to go unless you have drum replacement software. I wouldn't recommend adding more reverb, as that will push the drums into the background if you're not careful. If you compress the track to get the kick to stand out then you will compress all the drums if you don't use a multi-band compressor. Without knowing what you have and are using, it's hard to advise. Still, a good song.
  22. Doug, this is a cool song that is different from many I hear at this site. Perhaps you could bounce that flute down and run it through Melodyne (or something similar) to tighten up the tuning. Otherwise, it's groovy, man!
  23. I've always liked this song. Did you rearrange it? Anyway, it's one of your best!
  24. Having just listened to your other song on the forum, I had to listen to this one, too. I really like this song, and I believe you don't need to do to much with it. The vocal(s) are very good, and I wouldn't mess with too much EQ, as they sound fine, to me. I would back off on the reverb or f/x a bit, but the tonality if good. What I'm missing is a bass guitar to glue this song together, as it almost has a reggae/calypso feel to it. I like the sound of the synth, but you could dry it up a little without losing the depth. Otherwise, this is another gem waiting to happen.
