    Sarabande

This is a sarabande written for solo guitar that I arr. for five brass instruments. I like it because it shows how inventive poulenc is with such a limited harmonic palette. It's only 5 or six notes total, but shows remarkable invention. https://davidsprouse.bandcamp.com/track/sarabande-poulenc
  3. Is this satisfying as is or should I extend it with the first half of the A section tagged on to the end? Do I go too long before other instruments come in? Is it too rubato? Yes, I'm orange irish. https://davidsprouse.bandcamp.com/track/eileen-aroon
  4. Great Improv on this! I've always wondered how jazz musicians choose what will go on an album when everything's improvised. Each take will be different. Do they just stick with one that's better than the others?
  5. I looked it up and that's definitely NOT what I meant to say. I thought it meant something along the lines of quirky or unexpected and optimistic. My memory is getting worse. Sorry for the mistaken shade.
  6. How is that dear old man James Griffiths? Just watched a documentary on the rise and fall of the clash. Rock the Hasbeen. Liked the song. The reverb is kind of weird on headphones, Is it a small room? Your style is quixotic.
  7. Enjoyed this IMMENSELY! Very clever stuff!
  8. https://davidsprouse.bandcamp.com/track/european-cafe BTW this is the new charity I've been giving to feel free to give yourself: https://www.reddit.com/r/NoFap/
  9. All very good critiques fogle. I'm the same way viz panning. This is just the beginning though. Thanks for listening!
  10. This is what I'm working on. I can't quite get the swells on the horns right. https://davidsprouse.bandcamp.com/track/european-cafe
  11. Did you shower, Jesse?
  12. I don't know anything about production. That's why I read this forum, these peeps know IT!
  13. The satan's favorites are the self righteous. Nice one!
  14. I remember visiting a victoria embankment pub where there was an acoustic duo singing beatles tunes. I swear it was 11PM and just getting dark. (is that possible?) Anyways your song reminds me of this...no worries lots of romance. I can hear maybe that duo or graham nash singing your song. Really pleasant to listen to and great lyrics.
  15. Can't talk to an angel unless you no the code.
  16. Everyone lies. Two types of lies: repression and disavowal. I'm never surprised that someone is lying to me. I don't take it personally. :D:D
  17. Adam is awesome. It's also a great window into the mind of his generation. Younger musicians are so much better trained than they were decades ago. David Cola is also from Berklee and is an *influencer*. Really amazing musicians. The only deal with Adam that confuses me is that he's probably a better researcher and teacher than he is a performer (IMHO of course). Living the life of a working bassist is a lot harder than being a professor. I hope he gets picked up by someone.
  18. Funny is always better than clever. There's tons of clever composers, very few that actually have a sense of humor
  19. Hey Kenny I like your pic so much better these days. You look friendlier. On the old site you could be a real stinker
  20. Craig I would have thought you're the type that can do it all without the manual.
