Yeah, it's not really a great look on them given that the start screen is now covered up by a nag screen telling me to get it every time I start the program.

I just recently decided to run Cakewalk without internet to test something, so I ran it and got the nag screen you are talking about with a 15 second timer until I could close it to use the program. THIS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE! So this is the first time! I put the internet back on and went back to Cakewalk and the nag screen wasn't there as if it never existed.  o_O

  2. Everything works fine on my end and I never get a nag screen. Only reason I ask is because there was an expectation of getting news during Autumn/Fall of last year. But when we didn't and I thought maybe by the end of the year we will. But then that didn't happen either. Maybe they are experiencing delays which is common to happen in the industry.

I don't want to spread rumors or let speculations run wild. I was just curious if I was the only one not in the know or the only one thinking of it.

    Missed the sale...

Crap, now I'm going to have to scrap the grand opening of "TheSteven's Discount Mastering House and Tattoo Parlor".
I'm just going to have to learn to get along with my useless plugins from Eventide, FabFilter, iZotope, PA, etc. in making my music...  <sigh>

My kind of story! Spent $2000 on plugins then starting making music as a beginner. 😅

    TRY THIS 🙂

    FAST plugin purchase codes:

    FAST Limiter: fastfeb2024-limiter
    FAST Equaliser: fastfeb2024-eq
    FAST Compressor: fastfeb2024-compressor
    FAST Reveal: fastfeb2024-reveal
    FAST Verb: fastfeb2024-verb

That works! The only problem is that you would have to buy them all individually. It also looks like tax is applied because the price comes to $11.64. So if you buy all 5 that is $58.2.

I have all of the above too. The reason I enjoy using these is that they're dead simple. Like the EQ and reverb, which do a really good job of simplifying making your own customization to the settings the AI starts with. Izotope is excellent, but the Fast plugins are even easier to use when making tweaks. That's the reason why I like them, especially for the EQ. It's all about the GUIs. I think this video does a good job of explaining it. If you watch this, I think you can easily decide if they're for you or not. From a performance standpoint, they're excellent. They're made by Sonible, a plugin developer that produces very high quality effects plugins, using their AI technology and algorithms.  If you're an advanced user who has a strong grasp of these kinds of tools and can use an EQ and a compressor like a pro, I think you can take a pass on these plugins unless you want to take advantage of the AI analysis.

He makes a very good case! Too bad the coupon doesn't work.

The full Mixbox has been on sale for $29.99 (last month).  Definitely a good deal when that deal comes around again.

I'll just wait until I want to upgrade then contact their support for a reduced price. Perhaps when it is on sale again plus I want to buy it.

    That is it.

It used to be something like $299 retail if I remember correctly.

I own it other than the Sunset sound and tape module but my price is the same $99 (and I have the vast majority of IKM products also)

Other sites may say $299 but not IK. Keep in mind I am currently logged out of the website and the price is still $99. On the https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/mixbox/ website it says "SE edition available for purchase, with upgrade path to Full" under "What’s New in v1.5.0."

Near the banner at the top it says "TRY FREE Log-in to see your price $99.99 BUY NOW". So regardless for new or existing customers the price is the same. If I log in the price is the same. If you don't want to log out, try going to the site with Incognito Mode and you will see the same price.

  8. The new Pigments 5 has the ability to be used as an effect. Though not in the traditional sense.  After experimenting in Cakewalk I found out how use it as an effect for an Audio track and for an Instrument track.

    For Audio Effect:

    AudioEffect.thumb.jpg.c78f513a0194267d9de110c0d77cf5e6.jpg

As you can see I added Pigments as an Effect. But when you go to insert an effect make sure you choose "Inert Soft Synth" then choose Pigments. There should be a MIDI track for Pigments too and make sure it's Output is set to it as well, as you can see in the picture above. You need to also add a MIDI note in the Piano Roll as a constant note. It doesn't really matter which key. You wont hear anything if you don't have a MIDI note recorded.

    Configure Pigments like this:

    Pigments.jpg.3e4ccac94636c40041721af350534ad2.jpg

Choose a new default preset then disable Engine 1 and enable the Utility Engine. Then make sure only Noise 2 is ON then change it to Audio Input. The volume on the right will be very low by default so you will need to dial it up to hear the audio to a desirable level.

    For Instrument Effect:

    InstrumentEffect.thumb.jpg.70e59e49c7320220c73d235816b1a972.jpg

Here you can see me using it on both the Audio Track and Instrument Track. To make things easier to follow, name each MIDI track with it's corresponding output and make sure the outputs are correct. The MIDI track for the Instrument Effect should have the Input Echo ON so you can hear it, as you can see from the picture above with the speaker icon in yellow for PigmentsFX 2. This way you can hear the effect as you play with your instrument if you don't have a MIDI input recorded. When you do though, you will need to have that same constant single note in the effect MIDI track just like the above PigmentsFX 1 in the picture.

yup like acting as a multiband compressor

No, this does not have the Dynamic EQ built in so it does not have that multiband compression you are looking for.
