  1. Totally support Mike. Straight shooter. Great at his job. Glad he’s doing more Cakewalk. We will benefit from his content. cheers Mike! subscribed
  2. I just want to comment on what a great package the Back Stage Pass has been so far. It gives m e access to using the new Sonar and Next DAWs on my PC and laptop. I can use BandLab (and a bunch of tools) on my phone and iPad. I can record anywhere, in any scenario and choose the program of my choice for the occasion. I’m glad for the opportunity to be able to use and compare Next and Sonar rather than having to choose to commit to one or the other. My sons and their friends are avid users of BandLab, and demonstrates the next generation using modern collaboration tools. When you add in the features tools, and the additional services for growing your brand and distribution etc, it is really the most comprehensive package in the business and value filled. I won’t use all it includes, buy many like me will find outstanding value and quality with this package. I feel like Cakewalk/Bandlab is just starting to reach their potential, and maximizing its future. I’m excited and can’t wait to see where we go in the coming months and years. If folks are looking for free, there are other lesser options. For quality and value, Cakewalk/Bandlab/Sonar/Next is an excellent investment. Thank you to Noel and staff for your kindness and patience while guiding us through these transformative changes!
  3. I would guess there will remain an early access to updates to Sonar and Next as part of the Back Stage Pass. I can't see them doing a bait and switch, and take away an obvious reason for purchasing the Back Stage Pass, an all-in-one package. It should continue to offer early access to the latest version of the software. Perhaps Noel or someone can clarify.
  4. Which audio latency tester did you use?
  5. Anyone use this? Any opinions on the product or sale price? Thx!
  6. I appreciate the thoughtful answer and suggestions, and I’ll consider them as well. But I’m really looking to see if I can expand the capabilities built into CbB and BandLab, keeping everything in the same environment. Was hoping if it can’t be done now, maybe a preview of possibilities in the new version coming. I can upload a file (a track or full mix) and share with my friends on BandLab, and they can download it to their CbB and add to it or edit etc, then they can upload it. Or listen to uploads on our phones, iPads, etc… It’s just we are meeting barriers doing this after a few files. thx!
  7. I’ve been trying to get a couple friends who are less technical to share songs we can work on together remotely using built in features of Cakewalk and the BandLab for Projects and Library. There are apparently some limits to sharing projects. Not sure if it is limited by size, or how many files shared. In either case I have not found any options to increase the amount of content allowed. I haven’t found a way to upgrade the account or pay for more storage for this particular feature only. if someone could direct me to these options, or confirm there are no options bedsides the account’s current limitations I’d appreciate it. thx! If you haven’t checked it out, it is a really useful feature imo. I’m hoping it is expanded in the paid versions.

    EZkeys2 !!!!!

I have EZD3 and SD2. Looks like a good time to leap into EZKeys. Please share suggestions for a best first purchase for EZ Keys. Looking for best value and sounds, as in size of library and useful sounds. Are there any no-brainers to start off with. Also wonder if getting a bigger package is more value. It is a little confusing cyphering the sound expansions etc.. Thank you for the recommendations in advance. 🙂
  9. Bumping. Anyone have a Roland Octa-Capture working paired with another Octa-Capture, VS-100 or VS-700?
  10. Correct. The two devices are connected to each other with a special cable and settings. The VS-100 asio driver is used. The driver settings indicate whether the hardware connection has been made successfully or shows an error if not. The Daw sees the VS-100, but also the added inputs and outputs added by the I/O expansion. "Version 1.50 adds support for I/O expansion with the OCTA-CAPTURE. The V-STUDIO 100 driver for Windows or Macintosh, version 2.0 or later, is required. Please refer to the PDF document “IO Expansion by using the OCTA-CAPTURE with the VS100 or VS700.pdf” for details."
  11. Hi folks, Hoping someone can help with this. I recently bought a Roland Octa-Capture to expand inputs and outputs of my Roland VS-100. Each device works perfectly on its own. All drivers and firmware are up to date. When I have them "paired" (all settings correct as per the directions, coaxial cable in place, on same usb 2.0 bus; etc) the inputs and outputs are all listed as choices in the audio tracks. I can change the input I want to use on a track. The software shows the devices, no errors. No errors in the driver window that would appear if the devices weren't configured properly or if they were on separate usb buses. However, in CbB the mouse cursor just spins and I can't record or playback. Not on a new project, not on an existing project. I can select different inputs and click other items, but playback and recording don't work at all. I can use non asio drivers, but then only the VS-100 is "seen" as connected. I have changed every cord; I've tried on my desktop PC and my laptop. Bought a sub 2.0 hub to test with new cables. Anti-Virus is off. Disabled and uninstalled all other sound devices and drivers. Uninstalled other DAWs. I have cleanly removed the drivers and tried different sequences of powering on each sound card and connecting each usb cable to the computer. Ran sfc /scannow and everything else I could think of. I have done too many things to write them all down. I am thinking it has to be the driver. I have not tested it with Windows 10. I have Windows 11. I had to turn off Core Isolation for the driver to install properly. As soon as I select Asio drivers in CwB the spinning cursor starts. As if it is working hard and busy. Is it possible the new driver signing change in CwB latest release could affect this? I am using NVME hard drives, you have to use SSD according to directions and maybe it isn't recognizing that the hardware meets or exceeds the specs? Is anyone else successfully using an Octa-Capture with a VS-100 or VS-700 and Windows 11? Has anyone had a similar symptom using the two devices linked with CwB? Appreciate anyone taking a moment to read this and welcome any ideas. Especially like to know if someone else has this working and maybe had a similar issue to resolve. Thanks! SB
  12. I agree. That is milliseconds delay maybe. I don't see a major issue there. If there was an issue recording, any delay can be a concern. Sounds like the recording side has been fine. For an older OS, PC and sound card, it seems to be responding reasonably. lots of suggestions here to try though. It's a nice supportive community.
  13. Great vocals! Enjoyed the embedded emotion as well.
