  1. As an owner of OB-E and Sem it was definitely cheaper to buy from Gforce directly, 39. 99 gbp converts to 49 USD vs 65 USD to buy from JRR with the coupon group.

Was holding my finger on the trigger when it appeared on JRR as I thought if I waited they may be asked to remove the coupons like some brands do, locking in the $77 price, but I waited, and got it for 49 usd a couple hours later so I'm chuffed 🙂

    Love these new GForce synths.

What has been the update fee?

Officially its 99$/Euro but it gets discounted and at launch it was the lowest I've seen it, at something like $57 on bestservice. After that it went up to something  like $78. Via Rob Papen direct with coupon it's $74. I've been waiting for it to go back down to $57 so hopefully that will happen again at the launch of 9. I think the grace period was something like 3 months. I'd bought it in February of that year so I wasn't eligible.

Re Albino: Papen and the plugin designer LinPlug had a parting of the ways.

With LinPlug having designed the Albino audio engine I wonder how different the new version will sound.

Also wonder if you buy Explorer 8 if there's a grace period update to Explore 9.

There is but it's not as long as you might like. I bought Explorer 7 and skipped 8 but I'll upgrade to 9 for sure. Thankfully the upgrades so far have been the same price from any Explorer version.

I did got the Polymax too, and I wrote the customer service so I could the Creative for 99$ but they say they can’t extend the offer for me. I don’t know why… I thought it is possible as I saw at the forums some people had that offer.

This might be a silly question, but did you sign up for LoopCloud or whatever the subscription was that was giving away Polymax for free, or did you just use the plugin boutique coupon code to get it for free?

I only got the Creative Bundle (for $99) and I’m happy at that $10/each level.
But I’m hesitant to get the Mix Edition or Diamond, as they will undoubtedly grow larger with (many) more native titles.
As for the Ultimate, that’s another story. If you buy it (after registering some hardware) you’ll get it all, including future native releases.
Then again, UAD is on a roll, and who knows where they’ll land. I do consider a possibility that UAD 12 will go very low, but when…

On the other hand, many plugins aren’t native yet and those are the ones I’m interested in, so I might wait.
So for now, I’m thinking I’m fine with the instruments (while only missing the new Rhodes) and a few special FX like the ones on the Creative bundle.
As for mixing and mastering plugs, I’ll stay on the fence.
    Hope this rambling helps somewhat.

Thanks, that's really helpful. It mirrors my own thinking, although the $25 and $50 coupons are going to expire in October and that's motivating me to use them haha.

The Diamond Edition doesn't even include all the native plugins presently available so it's definitely only going to be a stepping stone, but the price per plugin is a lot better than buying any of this stuff piecemeal.

That’s a no-no, coming from the horse’s mouth. Never goes lower than $799. Until it does, of course.

Damn. What do you think is the best move? Get some cheap solo UAD2 hardware and wait for ultimate in one hit, or bite the bullet at $244 (319 - 50 personal coupon to make up for Labor day coupon disappearing - 25 thank you)?

I guess you bit the bullet facing that same choice... Any regrets?

Nope, still doesn’t work for me.

Did you get an email with a personal code included?

If not, have you registered the code for the plugin in UA Connect? I hadn't gotten around to doing that when the first set of emails went out, but I registered it a few days ago in UA Connect and got this latest email from UA with the personal code.

Anyone know what it does to the price of Diamond when you pick up the $99 Creative deal?

I picked it up for $99 last night. Diamond is now offered at $319, which, oddly enough, is less than they want for Mix edition ($339). I guess it's priced as a proportion of the products you own in the bundle. Ultimate 11 is $799 as Fleer mentioned earlier.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I still don't buy stuff anymore, I come here for the community and free stuff.

Right now I just got an Apple dongle and omg... it is the best DAC ever in the universe, and I am enjoying music soooo much (only goes up to 48 kHz 24 bits, but if you believe in science that's all you need, I guess)
It's like stuff sound the way it's supposed to (and mixed/mastered).
My plan is to sell my ADI-2 DAC (RME) and get 100 of these (there are 2 versions, one US and another EU, US is the one to beat).
Keep my Motu M4 for recording stuff (Logic Pro allows me to use both devices at the same time).
Also, weird that they give enough signal to my HD820 headphones, which... ended up sounding just perfect probably/arguably, but only this dongle revelead that...

Also weird that... on Windows still sound is very bad. This dongle and my DAC sound louder for some reason, at the same time a little bit thinner and harsh...
I read somewhere that there are certain protocols within the system between Windows, Android and MacOS that makes it have this behavior, idk if there is a fix to that, so, again, I am sticking to Mac for the time being.

Can't wait to try it with speakers.

I know, random comment, but wanted to mention it to someone, lol (usual friends don't know about this sht).

Just typed this to leave for prosperity. 🎼

Thanks for the heads up! Gonna have to check it out. Also gonna have to eat my words if Steve Jobs was right about taking the headphone jack out of the phone...

Where does one find or receive their downloads?

After purchase the webpage shows a long list of download links that will expire in 31 days. You will also receive an email with the same download links.

  11. I've been thinking about buying Keyscape, funnily enough, and I have most of the EPs out there already since I kinda went overboard collecting things and apparently I'm not done yet 😂

I'm not sure which I would happily part with, and this is the whole issue... each additional library adds something unique. But it does start to get ridiculous having so many flavours.

In terms of one's that are broadly capable to try to replace Keyscape, Acoustic Samples modelled EPs VReeds and VTines Mk1 for UVI Workstation/Falcon are both great but don't have many presets. Sonic Couture's Broken Wurli and Canterbury Suitcase are also both great and have a bigger range of presets based on famous songs.

Gospel Musicians Neo Soul Keys is pretty broadly capable too although I suspect there'll be more upgrades involved than the other options.

E Instruments Session Keys Electric bundle is pretty good too although the Kontakt UI has some bugs.

On the topic of Pianotek I had an aha moment recently when I realised the Rhodes mk2 is not an improved model of a Rhodes by Modartt compared to their first attempt (like I first thought), but more likely refers to a model of a mk2 stage piano, explaining why I didn't really like that Pianoteq model and why I preferred the mk1. I like the EPs in Pianoteq more when I dial back all the fx.

So what do you think about it?  I generally like UVI, so $9 seems good to me.

It definitely makes different kinds of sweeps to Air The Riser, so I guess it's a good tool to have in the arsenal if you want to be able to add that kind of thing to your projects. If you make EDM or ambient type music, or soundtrack type stuff. It has a surprising number of types of noise sound sources, and unique ways to tweak the sound beyond what a typical super synth would offer.

  13. Sorry folks I was mistaken! It's not part of VV.

I figured out why own it ... I bought it separately in January to get the best price possible from AudioDeluxe's UVI Buy More promotion. I had totally forgotten about that. No wonder I went so far above and beyond my planned spend subsequent to Black Friday 2022. It was a helluva deal.

Apologies for any confusion I caused. It was nominally $27 in January but after discounts I effectively paid $15 for it. So $9 is a great price if anyone has a need for whooshes.

  14. Correction: If you have UVI's Vintage Vault you would not necessarily have this...

I was about to pull the trigger when I thought to double check if I already had it. It would have been my first accidental double purchase. So I'm glad I avoided that shameful milestone for a little while longer 🙂

my price is $249. I only have M1 LE

    https://korg.shop/korg-collection-4-crossgrade.html

That's how I bought the bundle originally back in 2020. Got a free M1 LE Key with a miniature midi keyboard, and waited for the sale and upgraded for $199. Since then the collection has grown twice and I've paid $49 twice to upgrade it. So total outlay has been $298.

To put that into perspective in that time I also bought Arturia's V Collection for $299 and upgraded it twice for $129 and $99. Total outlay $527. V Collection had been $249 to buy in the year before I first bought it, so it has gone up by $50 in a similar timeframe.

Unlike many other companies in this business, Korg only charges for the new products they've added to the bundle. Updates to existing products are free. And on sale the upgrade price is quite reasonable. That's the kind of business model I'm happy to get on board with and to support.
