lets say you wrote a piece of music in a sheet music and you want to play it with a better instrument sound in cakewalk.
u added it and then the quarter tone scale u wrote is not playing in cakewalk.
in this case what would you do exactly.
in the music notation software i write the scale and it plays it as desired but the instruments have no good sound!now please walk in my shoe as a totally beginner and tell me what steps i need in order to play this E three quart tone
i really appreciate your answer but i dont understand the steps

Good day every body.
am not sure whats wrong i am doing. i can hear from both sides of head set and in cakewalk settings its stereo but i see only one line after recordingalso when i record i hear latency ( i record my instrument on a track music) and after recording the latency gap increases and i have to adjust the recorded track and slide it till the correct position
my computer specifications are:
Processor Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-3330 CPU @ 3.00GHZ 3.00 GHZInstalled ram 8.00 GB
Hard disk HDD 1 TB
upgraded from win 8 to win 10

Just to confirm, if you head to Preferences | Audio | driver settings, can you drag the "Buffer size".
no its not active i cant drag it
2 minutes ago, Promidi said:If this does not work then you should be able to click on "ASIO Settings" to open the software that6 controls the Audiolink III settings
the driver is installed but it didnt install any tool to adjust settings. only inside cakewalk asio panel but i dont think it helps

yes its like air sound.
how about Line in and mono record i mention above?
thank you so much -
finally it records mono not stereo
i compose the music i want to play and then i record my instrument audio on the pre arranged tracks
i play lute its a very old world instrument -
one other notice. i connect the mic to XLR combo it shows line in as a microphone is it correct?

Hello Promidi thanks for your answer and sorry for late reply
i downloaded the driver as you mentioned and yes the driver that windows installed is not a correct one. now i can choose Asio driver and Asio panel is active
But the latency controller is not active.
my computer specifications are:
Processor Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-3330 CPU @ 3.00GHZ 3.00 GHZInstalled ram 8.00 GB

another question in wasapi shared i dont hear noise in my mic but now i do
thanks for your helo -
Hello everybody
while recording on cakewalk i heard my playing with latency, so i recorded with out a monitoring but the record was also with latency. i tried to fix it without hurting my budget so i bought a secondhand audio interface. its "audiolink III"
from edit- preferences- playback and recording then driver mode ASIO
nothing is active and playback timing master set to none
is it not asio? how to get no latency? and what difference i get with audio interface i mean i bought it to get no latency
wasapi shared got also latency even with the interface
thanks a lot -

I usually manually insert the audio and midi tracks needed, for the midi data, and set the inputs on the audio tracks to pick up the output from each of the loaded synths, and I set the outputs for the midi tracks to the corresponding soft synth.
thanks a lot this was the trick it worked

Hello guys newbie here.
i have some midi files which i wrote on muse score and saved it as midi files. i am trying to put them together in cake walk to get a better instrument result.
when i import the file it gives no sound. after a lot of research i figured out how to get sound but only with default vst.
is there any way i can play and change the file sound and try different instruments
thanks a lot
