i will ,not say 149 is expensive for real , for a plugin that good , i would say more 14.99 is dead cheap lol  , i remeber for 149 euros i bought my waves dorrought meters thing it was a great deal ... or my PA neve console lol

It is my understanding that the VSM-4 is not an upgrade of the VSM-3. From the release on the Vertigo website:

The new VSM-4 plugin is not a successor or update of the VSM-3 Mix Satellite. Sonically it stands for itself but it comes with all the useful features of the VSM-2 Mix Satellite plus some more new functionality for your Mix and Mastering needs of today.

Crazy how they re competitiv with their ex partners ...

Vsm4 is superior imho , but don t trust me and try it .... vsm 3 is great also but for he type of music i make , drums'depth is crucial and vsm4 handles it like a chief ...

I am curious where the news of the PA and Vertigo parting ways was posted. Vertigo is still listed on the PA website as a partner.

  3. So many options! I have choice overload. It is like standing in the cereal aisle at the grocery store, trying to decide what to buy when all I have been eating in the past is Corn Flakes.

  4. Thanks for all the advice. At this point, I am only going to be able to afford one library so I am not looking for an everything bundle. I am playing with AGML, the lite version of AS Martin. I like what I see so far. There is no demo that I can see for the OTS guitars. I already have NI Session Guitarists Strummed Acoustic 1 & 2 Session Guitarist Picked Acoustic, all the UJAM guitars, AAS Strum  and Sugar Bytes Guitarist. I am looking for something more flexible and sounds good.

  5. A bit of a pain, but you could use something like the free NoteMapper by CodeFN42 to move the keyswitches. Of course, there would be a disconnect between what you play on the keyboard and what you see on the screen.

I completed a survey a few weeks ago which said they'd send me a serial for BioTek -  I wondered why it never arrived but this appears to be it!

Bummer that I missed that survey then. Wonder if KVR will be flooded with cheap copies of Biotek 2 now.

I find it odd that presets exist for pattern generators and originally $145.

Cthulhu is actually not just a pattern generator. Pattern/Chord generation is only a small part of the vst. It is a huge library of chord progressions as well as an arpeggiator. The presets are the chord progressions and the arpeggiation patterns. And the arpeggiator is far more than your typical up/down arp, able to produce rather complex sequences.

That put me off straight away. Just gives the wrong vibe to me. If anyone is here to sell something, just be honest about it. Nothing wrong with that, but pretending to be someone/something else is a big turn off for me.

From what little I saw of the products they seemed to be using the names of famous artists, so I wonder if he hit legal problems because of that.

    Yes. That makes perfect sense.

I saw the thread, adjusted my seat, and then saw you stole my joke…haha

I should get a hobby. I hear making music is fulfilling and there is more to it than just buying plugins hahah

What? You are telling me you can do something with those plugins besides collect them?

you can buy directly on website with newsletter10 coupon, price lowered to $8.10 (£5.81 todays google conversion) but just found out that you must be in US to get this price as when you try to pay by card, paypal or amazonpay it will not go through.

from UK, ujam will charge you £8.10, seems like dollars are now equall to pounds 1:1 for ujam.

I ordered it from Canada and got the US$8.10 price using the newsletter10 coupon.

I had figured out how to use it when I got it.  And that's why I called it unusable!    What a nightmare of a workflow.  Your diagram shows how crazy it is to use!

And I see that you are using it with Ample Sound's ES-335 which already gives you the ability to create sophisticated chord patterns with precise strumming patterns.

But hey, it seems like you're having fun with InstaChord and getting something out of it.  I guess that's what matters most!

Actually got to disagree with you here. Once I figured out how to use it, it is not really that difficult at all. I wouldn't use it for live performances but once it is set up (and it is not rocket science to set up) it is very easy to drive with a midi track. I am well versed in music theory but I could still see myself using it on tracks.
