That after rushing to work on #8 as soon as possible to charge people more money for upgrades.

Not in the case for Kontakt if history is any indication. Kontakt 5 was released in January 2012. Kontakt 6 was released in November 2018. Kontakt 7 was released in December 2022.

Tbh dont get why one cant love both.

Absolutely awesome synths, you cant go wrong…

No reason at all not to love both. It is true that the developers have chosen to primarily focus on EDM itself when producing expansion packs but that is no reflection on the synth itself. There is nothing in Avenger that would make it inherently better for EDM and worse for Ambient, Cinematic or whatever. But if your primary motivation for buying a synth is its expansion packs and you are not into sound design, than you can safely avoid Avenger especially if the existing expansion pack don't meet your need.

  3. Still not sure why people are trying to pigeonhole Avenger. First it is a preset machine, now it is an edm/house/dance machine? That is a load of bollocks. It is actually a  general purpose supersynth. Just to be clear, I am not an Avenger Fanboi, just trying to prevent the spread of misinformation.

agreed, expensive update, you just basically will get 250 more presets, so like 2 banks sale for them and calling it upgrade

It will never succeed to be inside the best plugin, professional producers and composers are not interested in instruments with full orchestras pressing a single finger no matter how well they sound, Avenger is wrong with this policy of paid updates while still the client can barely have a handful of expansions of the first version, without a doubt it does not seduce in the least...

I don't get why people think this upgrade is just 250 more presets. Nor why people consider Avenger just a preset machine. Yes, it has a lot of (expensive) expansions (90+ for V1). But it is one of the most powerful synths on the market. Here is what the update really gives you. If you think this should all be giving away for free then I feel sorry for your entitled little minds.

@Doug Rintoul I noticed that many of their instruments only have a four star rating at PB. And in my experience, people are usually generous with their ratings there. I have no personal experience with their products though. At least some of them look good. So, what's wrong with them? Just sounds bad? Or are they buggy? Bad support? What is it?

Good question. They are all bloated and sound pretty bad, at least to my ears. My experience is pretty much the same as is described in this VI-Control thread:

    https://vi-control.net/community/threads/im-seeing-muze-instruments-everywhere.124426/

More info is also included in this earlier thread:

    https://www.vi-control.net/community/threads/who-knows-this-company-sonex-strange-pricing.79952/

Muze has been discussed a number of times on this forum as well, and not in a positive light.

I just got this sent by PM. Guy's got to be kidding right? I wrote to his customer service at least five times (both email and web form) regarding a bug in a plugin I bought and never got a reply. Completely ignored. So what the hell is it with this? Anybody else get one?

    I got it as well.

I was disappointed, but I have a ton of multiFX already.  Do use the free trial.  I thought the UI was ... poor.  Categorize the effects by colored triangles, and in case you are confused, put a legend below them with words like Fire, Earth, Water...  I know- it's cheap, the sound quality is fine, and the CPU load is OK.  I just have other multifx that label stuff like Reverb, Delay, Transient, etc... and find them easier to tweak.

    -The Grump

I will check out the free trial. I do have a lot of multiFX such as Dawsome Love, and Arturia Efx FRAGMENTS. I was just wondering if this brought anything new to the table. It does look like the random feature that is the highlight, not the tweaking. The description on the United Plugins' site does say:

    Don't bother editing
Intentionally, the basic editing is limited to dry/wet mix of each element and changing their order. If you don't like what you get, simply hit the random button again, and don't waste your time.

So not for sound designers or tweakers.
