It seems that the developer only has two projects on github, OB-Xd and OPL. So that leads me to believe that the others from Disco DSP  are commercial synths.

Yes, all of DiscoDSP's other products are commercial offerings.

I was trying to find what limitations are there for the free/demo versions of the various synths at discodsp but it wasn't very clear. It looks like it could be a commercial vs non-commercial use limitation but GPLv2 doesn't really allow limiting the use, only the distribution

There is no limitations on the free version of OB-Xd. It is the same product as the "paid for" version.

  3. This one is actually available for free. It is an open source project, but the "developer" hides that fact on his website. When you buy it for $24.50 or $49.00, you are not actually buying a license to use it, you are just supporting further development. That is okay if you want to do that,  but I wish the developer was more upfront about it.

Did you notice their regular prices on everything is ridiculous?

As for the Rigid Audio stuff they offer deals direct.

I think most of their regular prices are the original developer prices. I have found that with APD rewards, I can often get lower prices than even the original developer's lowest prices. Look at the offerings from Audiofier, or Frozen Plains (great instruments btw) and compare to the prices on the developer website.

Rigid Audio is an exception. I buy from them directly.

that was a couple of weeks ago - Doug was late to the party :)

That is interesting. I could have sworn I updated Kontakt when it was released a couple of weeks ago, but when I ran Native Access to update Massive X, etc, it showed an update for Kontakt as well. Maybe my last update failed and I didn't realize it. Oh well. I am up to date now.

  6. I ordered this Saturday and Just received my license today. I think they were overwhelmed by the number of people taking advantage of this, and are just getting through the backlog. I am a happy camper.

  7. I can't figure out RA's pricing. The advertised price is $8 but when I add it to my cart, it is $6.90. And I can still take another 10% off that price. I thought it might be due to VAT but RA is in Germany and German VAT is 19%. $8-19% is not $6.90. I am not complaining at all. I would gladly have paid $8.00 for this instrument, so $6.90 is an even better deal. But it is a head scratcher.
