I bought AAS's Ultra Analog VA-3 yesterday. Today I edited a patch and was trying to save it using VA-3's "Save As" setting. When I tried to type a new name, any key that is mapped to a Cakewalk function (most of them!) executed that function instead of typing in VA-3's "Save Sound / Name" box. For example, if I want a "D" in my new patch name, the Cakewalk console pops up instead of entering a "D" as the first letter of the Name in the dialog box. Any ideas on how to make this work right?

Acronis for local backup, iDrive to back up files and folders. iDrive saves multiple versions of files, and I have it set to backup every night. It has saved me many times.

[SOLVED] Missing Plug-ins (old Kontakt version)
Steve Moddelmog replied to Rogério's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
When I run it, I can see which version of Kontakt, and Kontakt shows up as "Kontakt," not "K -" as in the one you show. For example, here's one that shows I used Kontakt 5. -
[SOLVED] Missing Plug-ins (old Kontakt version)
Steve Moddelmog replied to Rogério's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Actually, I think Projectscope will tell you what version is used in your project. See the link here in the old forum... http://forum.cakewalk.com/ProjectScope-helps-find-CWPs-and-keeps-them-organized-updated-to-Producer-Edition-m3218609.aspx?high=projectscope -
[SOLVED] Missing Plug-ins (old Kontakt version)
Steve Moddelmog replied to Rogério's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The problem with Native Instruments is that each major update is a different VST, so you have to keep all versions on your system for compatibility with "old" projects (which may just be a few weeks old if a new major NI release has been installed). Keep re-installing previous versions of Kontakt until you find the one you used. -
Problem integrating Nektar Lx25+ with cakewalk
Steve Moddelmog replied to jimtzu's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Using LX49 with no problems, other than my forgetfulness form time to time. You're following the instructions in the file Impact_LX_with_Cakewalk_Sonar.pdf file, right?- 13 replies

Issue with Kontakt Play Series
Steve Moddelmog replied to Steve Moddelmog's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
That fixed it. Thanks. What unexpected things might happen now that I have that box unchecked? -
Is anyone using any of the Kontakt Play Series synths from NI such as "Analog Dreams?" I'm having an issue in Bandlab Cakewalk (and in SPLAT) with them. Select a patch. Create some MIDI input. Hit Play. Cakewalk plays the track one time. If you try to play it again, the track is silent, and the only way to get another "play" out of it is to select a different patch, then re-select the patch you actually want. I have to do this every single time. Do NOT have this issue in FL Studio and I haven't seen it on the NI forums, so I'm assuming it is unique to Cakelwalk / Sonar.

Need help, Piano Roll editing.
Steve Moddelmog replied to SynthManDan's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
If you just click on the row (note name, or if you're using drum maps, drum name) that you want to change, it will select all of that entire row. You can then change the velocity on all of them at once without leaving Piano Roll. -
Thanks. I will be crying my eyes out, even though my wife has sternly instructed me not to blubber.

Yeah. She seems genuinely happy with it. Didn't want to embarrass her.

Thank you!

Thanks everyone. Has given me more confidence to let this be played.

Haha - my daughter knows my limitations. She asked me to play the song, not sing it.

I need some ears for mixing critique on a very important project. My daughter is getting married in 4 weeks. She asked me to record myself playing Love Is All Around on guitar and wants me to walk her down the aisle to it. I accidentally ran it through an Ozone preset twice. I sent that version to her (one of many takes), and she said it was perfect. Now I'm wondering if it sounds over-processed - it definitely sounds different from a "corrected" version. I have some moderate hearing loss, so I'm no judge as to what really sounds "better." Does it sound ok? No need to listen past a minute or so - it's looped so the DJ can fade it when we get to the officiant and groom.

My daughter got engaged a year ago and asked me to record myself playing Love Is All Around to walk her down the aisle to. I've worked on it here and there, and now the time is upon us - wedding in 4 weeks. The project has gotten a little squirrely over the past year - for a while any editing in Bandlab Cakewalk was impossible - the project would be frozen when I opened it. I discovered that I could still edit it just fine in SPLAT. Also, when I opened it in Cakewalk, PRV for the drum track would showing, even though that's not how the project was saved and not how it opened in SPLAT. About a month ago, I found I could open and edit in Cakewalk again, though it still always showed the drum track PRV when I opened it. Now today I tried to add a track, and the track view scroll bar froze and "filled up." CTRL-z would delete the added track and return scrolling to normal, but every time I try to add a track now, the same thing happens. And once again, no editing is possible. I've confirmed that it still works fine in SPLAT. What couldbe going on?

Cakewalk - Heavy VST Instrument / MIDI users?
Steve Moddelmog replied to Lee D's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Drum maps aren't really necessary, but I do use them. There are drum maps already created for many drum VSTs - Addictive Drums, for one - so you don't necessarily need to do any work other than searching online and following the instructions to get them into Cakewalk. -
Cakewalk - Heavy VST Instrument / MIDI users?
Steve Moddelmog replied to Lee D's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
About 95% MIDI / VST. Synthpop and post-punk mostly. It has worked well for me since the first version called "Sonar." I have a ProTools license but don't even have it installed currently and have never finished a project in it. -
