The Spitfire Player libraries are fairly straightforward to Unify so they have been a good way for me to get started. I am not sure where things stand as far as Unifying Kontakt libraries as there was some major issues with the recent Kontakt update which caused problems finding sample content, I am keeping my eyes peeled for more info concerning that one. With the Synchron Player, it is more about figuring out what Linked Parameters to assign to the Macro Knobs. When I took a look at all of the parameters that Synchron was exposing it blew my mind. They were including every parameter for around 19 different mixes, I guess to cover surround applications, with each one of the mixes all of the effects and sends parameters were exposed, so it took me by surprise but I am working through it ;^) With today's latest Originals Abe Laboriel Drums, i will be interested in seeing how I can remap the notes so that they might be used with the included drum grooves inside of Unify. I will work on it as soon as it lands here. I would also LOVE to learn more about how to use Auto Hot Key, it sounds like a very helpful tool when doing these sorts of repetitive tasks. There are two kits available (standard, and trash kit). I was having fun checking out the “vibes” and they sounded very good. I need to revisit the individual sounds but for the price it is a nice addition, I have typically used MODO Drum for most of my arrangements, specifically the Yamaha Studio kit. More to come.

I played with this a little this afternoon and it is a great way to create drum parts fairly quickly. You might see it pop up very soon on a livestream, possibly Twosday 🤓

Don't laugh! When I was on the Amiga working with Bars and Pipes, Microsoft purchased Blue Ribbon Soundworks for some of their generative music products to try and integrate some of the technology into Windows, so it could happen, but let's hope that it doesn't! I think Cakewalk is probably in its best position at the moment and I hope it continues to gain positive momentum in the music creation community.

He really did a great job with this. It is so exciting to see how he continues to grow and come up with these fantastic ideas and applications.

You might need to bundle up for this one. We just went through some crazy winter weather and waking up to possible single digits. It's really huge, and it might not be for everyone. I myself would not see me using it as a daily driver so to speak. I would probably look for some of the other more practical string libraries to go on sale first. Myself, I would love to experience Spitfire Chamber Strings as they seem to be a real favorite and go to for a lot of composers. I am loving Appassionata however as well, very nice to add that really nice legato on top of an arrangement. I will be featuring those in the morning around 11:00 am ;^)

Regarding permissions, John presents some detail here, from a discussion I had on the forums when I first started learning how to use Unify. I thought it would be helpful to share his thoughts with all of you as well. I would think they are up to their eyeballs working on so many different projects and Unify is probably just a small blip on the radar, a blip that is getting larger by the moment. ;^) Joyfully!

Reid, It seems that it might not be something required, as John has not mentioned that aspect to me in our recent working together. I was following his pattern of past Originals releases and picking up that baton. John mentioned he was going to try and reach out to Christian about what we were doing and hopefully get some more interest in what Unify can bring to the table. I also posted on the Spitfire Audio user forum as well, so it will be interesting to see the response. The thing is, unifying victual instruments and libraries is an essential component to strengthen what I am calling the Unify Ecosystem. The prospects of having what I am also calling a "Meta" (I know new buzzword) Template using Unify is really promising but it requires more "unified" patch libraries to make it viable. I think we are definitely on our way!

Recently while learning more about Unify and how I might help others understand it more, I started creating "Unified" patch libraries. I started with the Spitfire Originals, as they are not that complicated but having a Unified version makes things so much easier to work with inside of Unify. I am calling this an "Open Beta" where you can download and install the patch libraries to help make sure they are working, and also open it up for you to submit your own user patches that you might come up with. Any user patch to be considered for inclusion in any updated library must use the UNIFY STANDARD LIBRARY, this is to ensure the most compatibility. I still use my Roland XP-50, I actually had all of the surface mount capacitors replaced as they had started leaking, what an amazing job the tech performed, it is good as new. There is something about that XP sound that had a punch to it. The closest thing I have to a physical DX7, is a TX7, which is sort of a desktop DX7 module, RX11 Drum Machine, and an Emu Proteus. I had a Korg DW8000 for a short time. Having the TX816 available in Unify is really amazing and a lot of fun rediscovering those massive FM layers.

Just finished playing through this some on the channel, lots of fun.

Does anyone else think the 39% is a bit odd???? 😕 I love this collection and think they did a really wonderful job with it. Offering the individual keyboards is a great idea for those who are only looking for a specific sound.
