  1. After a lockup go browse the events near the time of the lock up. You don't have to know what you are looking for. Filter for errors or warnings and see what you find. It might give a lead on the issue.
  2. Until covid, when his restaurant had to close... When need demanded, he took up the closest thing he had to a weapon...
  3. I still boot to Linux sometimes. I have usb ssds with Ubuntu studio that enable me to use any handy laptop or desktop to make a recording with my rme.
  4. She's a latter day tuba player and tubas are awesome!
  5. Still crying over the sinking of the mayo. Love that stuff.
  6. Take a look in the system event logs and application event logs. Windows button+x Comp management Event viewer Takes a second to load events
  7. Just to make sure, you've run latency monitor for hours and get a clean bill of health?
  8. I'm not sure what it might be, but from a software perspective it sounds like the 'oh no! protect human hearing!' switch might have been thrown. I'm trying to rack my brains to see if I've ever encountered this. I think Noel auto detects internal loopback threat and mitigates it. I know i have messed myself up making mobile recordings by doing things i don't normally do. Switching screenset during a recording. Record enable a track during a recording. Did you take any action near the time it blew up?
  9. I've seen auto feedback detection do something like this in other apps (where I accidentally created an infinite and increasing loop) but I haven't seen this in Sonar. Any chance there was a feedback loop?
  10. I got it working!! My only issue was I couldn't fit the drive cage back in with the CD Drive screwed into the bay. I solved this by sliding it in after the bay was installed and screwed in. This means I can't screw the CD Drive into the drive cage, but that's ok with me. It's pretty stable and everything is working. 🙂
  11. Good morning. I got a new mother board from Jim. This video was made for him, but if you know answers or want to guide me, advice is welcome. I'm struggling to wait to unplug everything and remove the mobo until i feel confident i have sufficiently prepared. So I'm going for a walk. It's a pretty day.
  12. On my gr20, i have buttons on the pickup contraption that change the function of the pedals. Is it possible you don't know about this? You can only change patches in certain states. Midi only sends in certain states. Depends on the on guitar controls.
  13. I use vs code daily for type and java script. I connect to oracle with it. Vs code is a branch of atom. Idk if you have any advantage for using it over atom.
  14. @Jon White I just don't have problems with the audio engine itself. Cakewalk works the same for me regarding reliability and dropouts as other daws. Just my experience. It is true that i can out drive my computer so i try to keep with the times, even if computer upgrades for me are slower than I'd like. For lots of purposes I'm able to live around 3 to 5 ms of latency with no dropouts. Not for heavy synths though. The computer can't do the work in time. Regarding cutting voices, one of the tools for staying real time with synths is reducing voices and this is described in this video.
  15. 1. S to split the clip for the section you want. 2. Ctrl l to make it repeatable 3. Drag out the edge for as many repetitions as you like
  16. In auto zoom, there are different sizes for focus track and non focus track. Changing the size of a non focus track changes all non focus tracks together.

  18. I'm all for opening up the economy. You go first. I'll be right behind you. 😛
  19. I have a gr-20. Mine works fine. Not perfect but i use it a lot. It is the only pedal i never put away. The gr-20 synth does a better job than the midi for hammer ons and pull offs. I think it sends the midi with pitch bend data. It is likely possible to match the pitch bend to the guitar bend but i haven't gotten that straight yet. The midi tracks well when i pick each note. I usually plug my guitar in directly to my amp, bypassing the gr-20 for the guitar pickups. I only send the gk3 pickup to the gr20 and i use 2 cables in the guitar. Sometimes the switch on the guitar gets pushed to guitar only and this takes me a moment to understand why midi stops. I've thought the bend range on notes in cakewalk could be changed to better match guitars. You can bend a whole note or more spending on your guitar, strings and position on the neck. The gr20 knows this. Knows also the real pitch. So it does a great job. I'm not sure the midi sent to the daw is as good. There is a tool called syntorial you can buy to learn about synthesizers. Synthesizers are complicated but understandable. It it's to much for a manual to understand synthesizers and all their settings. This one shows the midi tracking the part.
