    Hi,

Relative midi noob here, but today I pulled up my Sonar professional and my midi keyboard inputs are not longer triggering the sounds on my instrument tracks (Omnisphere, sessiondrummer, etc.).   My midi keyboard is checked in the preferences, input in instrument track is using all Omni (tried changing that to my specific keyboard with no difference).  What's odd is that in the step sequencer view in those instrument tracks, it senses my midi keyboard inputs.  For example I have F#3 key assigned to hi-hats, and when I manually fill in the steps with my mouse it triggers the sound and plays back normally, when I press F#3 key on my keyboard it shows the little green light in the step sequencer as if it recognizes the input command, but no sound.

Must be something really dumb I accidentally changed.. any help appreciate!!

Ben, what I found is that if you go into Cakewalk and don't have your sound system on first, it doesn't recognize that you have turned it on after you go into Cakewalk. That was my problem. Maybe this will help.   Rick

  2. I'll admit that I am new to Daws, but... I have 5 tracks recorded. Only 1 track was copied. Other 4 were inserted. 2 tracks are set to guitar, 1 to drum, 1 to keyboard, and 1 to drum. They ALL play keyboards. And no matter what I set the bpm to, they all play the same bpm, and I can't change the beat. I can change bpm, but it doesn't change beat.

I just want to write 1 decent song, topic is for my departed mom. I need real help, please? Rick

  3. I have a sound card, not sure what it is. I think it is a problem interfacing with the cakewalk app.  It works sometimes, but only a couple. It started working again when I rebooted cakewalk about 20 times. However, the same result when I went in again, no sound. I am puzzled. I want to write just one song that I have in my mind. Would really appreciate ANY help I can get get. No idea what I am doing wrong.

  4. I am totally new to DAW's.  I downloaded Bandlab, and set up a couple of tracks. It sounded just fine. The next day, I went into my tracks, and they played, but there was NO sound from my computer any more. I output to a surround sound system. Help told me to look for the "monitoring" icon, as this must be set on. I couldn't find the Monitoring icon. Also, Do I need some equipment that I don't know about? I checked my media using windows media. works fine. Output bar near speaker icon, shows it is playing sound.
