    Can't Scrub all tracks?

Particularly with multiple tracks - You're probably asking your CPU to do a heck of a lot of work. I think it has to grab all that data - stick it in ram and then perform time stretching in real time on each track to scrub. - or maybe it does some kind of internal bounce to a hidden track of sorts then treats it as a single track or thread , and that's why there's an online temp mode and an offline render mode with significant difference in audio quality. I think the new elastique rendering provides a better quality algo-rhythm for this kind of work. Don't know for sure - but that's my uneducated guess.
  2. A mainstay for many years.
  3. I just sold (2) DSP factory cards this week for about .10 cents on my old dollar. Ouch - but it was real fun working with those and Sonar2.
  4. I just bounce to clips for each track - then hold shift and drag one track to the other in sound on sound mode. important to remember ( Shift key maintains their time line position ). ) ( Control shift if you want to copy the track and maintain the time line position ). Set the midi channel of the destination track to - none - if the combined tracks tracks want to retain their separate original channel data. Set to whatever MIDI channel if you want to output the combined track to a specific MIDI channel.
  5. Valhalla Room is my stand alone go to Reverb. Sounds good and it doesn't bog me down with a kludgy interface. I have a large assortment of Lex plugs and UAD EMT140 which is very good.
  6. Do you mean that automation ( Read ) is on by default? If so - there is no automation when instantiating an instrument track- so no volume control. It would only save a step after recording automation. I'm not sure what value there might be by having it default to off, or maybe you could explain what issue it causes for you.
  7. Wondering if the OP found the BT's ? It looks like they're there for the pickin.
  8. I think the Nov 2018 was that last time that a full download install was available for an existing account.
  9. I've dabbled with Samplitude for years and I'm very glad they took over ownership of Independence - which I've owned as used for a pretty long while. Mixing and editing is ok for me in Samplitude - but I could never seem to just start and finish a full project in it - I couldn't get along with it's midi implementation as well. I've dabbled with Mixbuss for a couple of years and though it's editing is ok - it took too long for me to really understand well enough to establish a suitable workflow. I do like to mix stems in MIXbuss - It adds a dimension that I haven't been able to duplicate on other DAWs . CbB has it all going on as far as I'm concerned- I updated to Sonar Pro a few months before Gibson did it's thing, and I didn't get all the Splat plugs and content available..... I hope they can eventually offer up previous menu of plugs and instruments. Pro channel additions are hopefully in the future. I've done the time and have a large number of archives going back to the early / mid 90's. I think Noel and the bakers are the best in the business. Very glad for Band Lab's save.
  10. I'm just a bit south of Chicago. Nice balmy kind of weather today. I'm just about to start thinking about those going to work today. My 35 mile drive to work is not going to happen.
  11. I disagree - the bassist is just trying to upstage the guitarist while he's playing the solo. ---typical if you ask me.
  12. I use an Appollo 8 firewire : older unit. I can set to 64 buffers while tracking and I believe I get down 3.4 ? ms( occasionally down to 32 with a sparse project ) . If I remember - my typical setting is 128 buffers and round trip is reported around 5.9 ms. Seems to work ok - and I keep my projects pretty lean.
  13. I think Poly AfterTouch is switched off as default on midi record. Maybe check to see if that's how roland controls chokes.

    How To Apply Effects?

It might be a bit complicated to give tutorials via forum texts. You might look up various tutorials on you tube. The more recent ones will include some lessons on using Melodyne - which would be a good tool for tuning. Might not be automatic - so to speak - but it does a great job when used with reasonable length clips. There is a lot of Cakewalk material out there. Much of very well done.
  15. This is a very wild guess - but what are your drum note durations ? I had an issue a number of years ago where NI's Battery would occasionally hang when drum note durations were very short. I typically increase there lengths to at least 40 - 50 ticks and it solved that issue. This was with an older XP computer and a dual core - so the scenario might be complete nonsense for your situation. But - I can't stand editing notes that are super short in duration in PRV anyways. I use conventional ? midi note editing - not the diamond drum note symbols.
  16. It's just as likely that I had the Console view docked under the Track view and confused the views.
  17. The only insight -which probably does not fit your situation is : I was able to open a project in Sonar PRO that was saved off and edited to CbB which was Sonar Splat level. The only noticeable artifact was missing plugs that were included in CbB that were not available to Sonar Pro. I have projects that open and convert to CbB regularly from Sonar 5. I have not tested whether they can re-open in sonar 5 though. For what it's worth - many function from earlier versions have been improved. Certainly a few issues regarding unavailable older instruments and plugs might need to be rendered to audio to keep your archives intact. I've had no concerns porting to the new CbB version myself though.
  18. I thought that the expanding scroll bar was normal to CbB behavior, mostly recall it when I was trying to edit a theme a few weeks back. I am a walking- talking full time senior moment in action though - . I forget , then re-learn things everyday.
  19. One game changer for me was tweaking the ( mix thread count ). I'm using an Appollo interface and I presumed that using all cores was the most efficient way to process. But I had to reduced the number of cores to 6 before all was well. I presumed that maybe the Appllo required core for it's internal processing. I don't really know but - I luckily found a very old thread on the forum that eluded to this and sure enough that was the key. I don't know enough about how this all works - but you might try to see if it helps. Hopefully it couldn't hurt.
  20. But - you are a heck of a great resource to this forum. In case you couldn't read my mind.
  21. Thanks for the animation as well. I don't have a pic sight that I can upload too. And yes - that is the behavior I was noticing. As I said, not really an issue - just an observation. I actually glance at that - especially in console view to give me an indication of tracks not viewable in the current scroll position. It's such a small thing - that I didn't even notice that I actually reference it --------- until it was missing.
  22. How about honoring the program being in existence and nearly perfectly backward compatible for nearly 30 years. There's value in that and there's always an " inconvenience" of learning the existing architecture.
  23. The Quad Curve EQ is very good. If you dbl click on it in the console view - it will open into a large format that shows a spectrum analyzer as well all editable bands. The flyout view is not sticky and is intended for quick / focused adjustment . It then ducks back out and unclutters the view. Really great implementation IMO. The compressors are also very good. You can hit them pretty hard as well.
  24. All I can say is : Best in the Business
  25. Not an issue - but just an observation. Anyone noticing that the horizontal scroll bar in both track and PRV does not widen to reflect the relative zoom level ? not sure if this is an anomaly or was maybe something done for a reason?
