  1. Thanks. I'll try the upgrade again. EDIT: No idea what happened the first time, but installing the latest version of v5 worked great. AL4 is still the full version, as is AL5. May have been an authentication problem the first time. Doesn't matter. I have a lot of banks I purchased for AL4 that show up. I have a total over 9200 presets available, so I think I've got everything. Thanks again for the nudge.
  2. When Analog Lab V first showed up in the Arturia Software Center, I installed it. My license for Analog Lab 4 reverted to the Lite version. I had to uninstall v5 and reinstall v4 to get the full version of v4 back. Is this still the case? Seems like a crappy way to force me to upgrade to the full v5.
  3. I have one pair of the 250 ohm 880 for mixing and two pairs of the 250 ohm 770 for tracking/voice-overs. Love them all. Very comfortable for long sessions. They work great with my PreSonus 1810c headphone drivers. I wouldn't spend Beyerdynamic money for 32 ohm cans for use with a cellphone or other low-powered device.
  4. I own them all, save for the Omnipressor. Just corrected that situation. Less than $42. AbFab!
  5. If you don't have a license to any version of the full Kontakt, it's definitely worth it. I bought v9 Ultimate back when. When I bought my new computer, the only NI instrument I installed was Kontakt 5. I upgraded to v6 the first time it went on sale. If you have v5, but not v6, it seems to me that the primary reason to upgrade would be to be able to use Kontakt instruments developed with v6 that may include v6 specific code. There are a lot of free to inexpensive Kontakt libraries out there. Cool, weird little instruments. If Omnisphere is doing everything you need, spend your money elsewhere. If every so often you feel the need for an unusual sound not available in Omnisphere, Kontakt can be a lifesaver. I have not noticed that same kind of support/product development for Omnisphere. If I'm wrong, the flipper of bits will straighten me out. 😋

Jumped on this one! Not on sale on UVI's site.
  9. I just came across this video on mic'ing speaker cabs. Interesting. I learned a few things. By Steve Albini.
  10. Yup. Ended 8/18 at midnight somewhere. To cheer you up, I was going to post this really cool cover of Hungry Like The Wolf, but... 😋
  11. Here's the product page link. Ampeg SVT Suite
  12. It will be interesting to see how much of the Ampeg tone I can get through the Rumble 200c/210cab when set flat (10, 2, 2, 10 for Bass, Lo Mid, Hi Mid, Treble).
  13. I think this offer ends today, the 18th. Looking good for a v1.0.0 product released a couple of months ago. 3 amps. 8 cabs. 6 mics. 5 FX pedals. User IRs. 10 presets for each of the 3 amps, plus a bunch of artist presets. Includes preset templates for making your own. Authorization is to the computer you install it on via logging in to your Ampeg account (which I had to create). The survey only took a minute or two. I won't be able to try it out until I get to France and receive the goods I shipped last February that were sitting in storage waiting for me to get my visa (two weeks ago) so I don't have to pay the 30% import duty. All of my basses are in that shipment. I had to sell my Rumble 40 and 200 combos because they were 120v only, not switchable to 240v. Will have to replace them when I get there. Gonna get the 210 cab to go with the 200 combo. SWEET!
  14. SVX came with Amplitube 4 MAX, but I had to buy SVX 2. Gotta have that 15N! I need to take a closer look at this. Anyone have experience with Ampeg's own VST? How does it compare to the Amplitube versions?
  15. A take-off on the admittedly racist joke from decades ago. Apologies in advance to those of you who are of Italian descent. What nationality are flat tires? Italian. Dago WUP WUP WUP WUP WUP.
  16. I do, but it's way too large to attach to a PM. I put it on my Google Drive. Here's the link. Let me know if that works. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_Jq12FPbrg7i6fYhS6ayvLvQSbNpVA-E/view?usp=sharing
  17. Waves is a black hole. While they have many good and useful plugins, the Waves shells SUCK BIG TIME! And don't get me started on WUP. If you have never installed a Waves plugin, stop while you're ahead. I got so sick of dealing with all of the Waves BS, that I installed ZERO of the couple of dozen plugins I have licenses for when I replaced by DAW computer.
  18. They do...if you buy both editions at the same time. $200 vs $500. Scroll down the page linked to above. Includes the 3 expansions for the Outside In edition.
  19. I use Gig Performer in the studio, but it's primarily designed for live performance. Think of Mainstage, Forte, Cantabile. It's a high-end VST host with scripting support for extending its functionality. It is more flexible, while being easier to use, than any of those other 3 hosts. The wiring view is spectacular. I use it all the time. Gig Performer Check out Trey Gunn's (King Crimson) review. One user came up with this. Here's another example. One more.
  20. MSuperLooper works great in Gig Performer. Here's a screen shot of the Global Rackspace. Here's the GP forum thread discussing it. MSuperLooper in Gig Performer
  21. I got a password back in less than 5 minutes. My upgrade price was $27. I own only Expose. Others who have additional MTM products may be offered a lower price. Anyone?
  22. I snagged the True Keys bundle on a P.A. special a couple of years ago for $99. Haven't seen it for less that $199 since. Can't remember what I paid for the Ravenscroft, but it was a decent sales price. Modern U is finally on sale! Woo hoo!
  23. From the Softube Tape web page: If you run PreSonus Studio One (Pro or Artist), you can not only use Tape as a standard plug-in. Adding Tape to your MixFX slot gives you Tape Multitrack. Tape Multitrack includes all the goodies of Tape, but in addition, you get selectable crosstalk between each individual track — and you can easily control the Tape Multitrack settings from a single interface. The Tape and Tape Multitrack license is one and the same. This means that if you're not a Studio One user but at some future point decide to switch to that DAW, you will already have Tape Multitrack installed, licensed and ready to go. Softube Tape and Tape Multitrack Note that plugin scanners for all other DAWs and plugin hosts will fail the "Tape Multi Track.vst3" file. That is expected behavior.
  24. I lied again. The final 20 files are a half gig each. That's gotta be TVBO. Taking the fast train...to nowhere.
