  1. Same here. Updated yesterday. I agree with your hypothesis. From this size of the updates, it looked like MIDI pack updates do. 2MB to 3MB. Same UI. So, maybe it's MIDI pack format updates for EZK2. We'll see if the separate MIDI packs get updated, as well.

I've spent a few hours on the new TAL Vocoder. The new version (3.0) is certainly a great improvement in usability over the old (2.X) versions!! I think any sonic differences are nil. The user manual warns about a periodic noise sound from the vocoder output every minute for unregistered/unpaid versions. I never heard that sound in my testing. The free version seems to be 100% operational.

The user manual leaves me with nothing but questions about the improved signal routing capability (a MAJOR improvement, IMO). It makes a mention with a few simple definitions and nothing more. That seems like the wrong way to explain a major new feature. It would be great if Bandlab could be added to the "Routing examples" section.

Does anyone know the center frequency of each of the 11 bandpass filters? It would be nice to be able to manipulate those parameters like the "other" vocoder plug-in. I would call that a nice-to-have feature. (Perhaps that level of adjustability is not useful in practice?)

Since there is no paid version of the Vocoder, my guess is that text is copied over from a user guide for a different (paid) plugin, that they used as a starting point for the Vocoder guide.

  3. FWIW, the Mastering Suite is included as part of Acon Digital's Acoustica Premium Edition, which, IMO, is the best audio editor out there. I switched to it from SpetraLayers a long time ago, and never looked back. The Premium Edition also includes the excellent Restoration Suite. I don't know if there's a discount available for Mastering Suite owners to Acoustica P. E. (199 euros). If not, I would consider holding off on the Mastering Suite until a sale on P. E. comes along (doesn't happen often).

  4. I bought a lifetime license for SPlat before it went splat. I never installed Cakewalk by Bandlab when I bought a new laptop. Are the SONAR Platinum downloads still available somewhere, including the Anderton IRs?

  5. Hey, this is a free direct download on the Overloud site. It's totally bogus that JRR shows a $79 list price lined out.

    Hybrid Free for REmatrix

I wasn't able to drop it into the VST3 plugin UI. I had to drop it into the standalone version of REmatrix to install it. Didn't try it with the VST version.

  7. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems to me that InMusic is where music software goes to die (AIR, in my case). Not a single update in several years.

  8. I don't know what it is about Native Access, but at least they're consistent. In v1, every time I started it, I got a message at the bottom saying that Reaktor Player 6 had been successfully installed. Every time. Now with v3, I get a message at the top right that they're sending my usage data to the devs and I can manage that in Settings. The first thing I did when installing v3 was to disable that in Settings. But I still get that message every time I start up Native Access v3. Every time. Sheesh. 🙄

  9. 1) There is NO mention anywhere of the driver, ASIO or otherwise.

    2) There is NO mention of its latency.

    3) They say USB-C. That's the connector. The interface is USB-2. Not sure if it, with the as-yet to be announced driver, can handle the max I/O (via ADAT and S/PDIF) at the max sample rate (192 KHz).

    4) The RME Babyface Pro is half the price, has super low latency and very high specs.

I think I'll use the money to buy another new bass instead.

  10. 79 € gone. It'll be a long 5-6 weeks.

Not sure what's going on, but TPM won't load my products at the moment. Maybe they're too busy selling EZKeys 2. ☺️

unfortunately it's more complicated than that

V2 (actually V3!) is causing issues for some users so they are rolling it out in small batches.   They claim 650k users have switched but still quite a few to go - that gives an idea how many NI customers there are.

There's a post on the NI forum about it all.

FWIW I'm still on V1 too

That shows you how much (little) attention I pay to plugin download managers.

there are 2 versions currently supported

V1.14.1 - which is the last version of the V1 - no future development

V2 - which is rather oddly V3.21 - NI made a mess of the version numbers and seem to be sticking with it.

I just figured that out and installed v2. I guess that I expected Native Access to inform me of new versions like all of the other app managers. Not so for this major upgrade. Live and learn.

    And...never mind. 😄

I would ask if it's worth installing but unless you literally have nothing else of the same type, none of the LABS libraries are.

Which means you've downloaded, installed and tested each one?
