  1. You don't need to copy it anywhere special. Carefully follow @Variorum's installation instructions. 👍
  2. That is a better fit. Thanks for chiming in.
  3. If you prefer to watch a video, have a look at How to Connect a MIDI Keyboard to a Computer in the tutorials section of this forum. 🎓
  4. Welcome to Cakewalk! For starters, have a look at Hardware setup in the documentation. Then have a look at Controlling which sounds you hear in the documentation. You can also download the documentation as a PDF document from the "Cakewalk by BandLab" menu at the top of this page.
  5. One of the first questions beginners ask is "What should I get?" For starters, I generally point them to How to Set Up the Ultimate Desktop Recording Studio, despite the hyperbolic title. 😉
  6. I am not aware of any. I began writing a technical reference several years ago, but it's not finished and the project has languished. Go ahead and ask as many questions as you like. The answers will help other Axiom users too.
  7. You first need to know what MIDI messages the VST recognizes. These will differ from one VST to the next. Then you can program the M-Audio Axiom to transmit the recognized messages. The M-Audio Axiom is highly configurable, which eliminates the need to use anything to translate MIDI messages on the fly. I have a first generation M-Audio Axiom 25. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
  8. @Stephen Simmons see my reply (5 replies up) in this thread. It is what @Soft Enerji was responding to.
  9. You might also want to make sure that the "Allow applications to take exclusive control" check box is not checked.
  10. Can you successfully record from the mic in any other software on your computer?
  11. My recommendation would be to allow the Microsoft updates. If you experience problems afterward, and you can definitively identify the update as the source of the problem, then Windows allows you to roll back updates. I personally keep my workstation as up-to-date as possible and I have yet to experience a problem with CbB that was caused by an update. As always, your mileage may vary. 😜
  12. It is. The Matrix 4 is in pre-production. ...oh wait... Please post feature requests in the Feedback Loop forum. This thread is about topics for Craig to write explanatory articles about. 👍
  13. There is also a link to the latest reference guide PDF file in the "Cakewalk by BandLab" menu at the top of every Web page in this forum.
  14. @Jaime Ramírez unfortunately, that's not enough info. What build of Windows 10 are you running?
  15. Originally, Durban South Africa. Now, California USA.
  16. This is meaningless without context. Please use the Snipping Tool (built into Windows) to take a snapshot of the area of the UI that you are talking about. It will help immensely.
  17. In case it's not clear, the image in @scook's post is a link to more information that might help you.
  18. I see what you mean. 😜
  19. Don't forget the Snipping Tool that comes with Windows. It's a quick and easy way to show what you're talking about.
  20. There are no stupid questions, but be sure to check out the reference guide on the "Cakewalk by BandLab" menu at the top of this page. 👍
  21. You may find this old thread of some use. I'm hoping Rapture Session has the same logging option that Rapture Pro has.
  22. Yes, you have the basic concepts correct. See the following two documentation links for more details: Connect your MIDI equipment MIDI drivers
  23. You need to select your MIDI controller as a MIDI input device and then you can use it in Cakewalk to play your VST instrument.
  24. What MIDI channel is your LX49 transmitting on and what MIDI channel have you assigned to Output Exhale in Kontakt?
  25. Yes, have a look at the documentation for the Select Module. Selection is often used for copy/paste operations. You can also set your loop points to the selected region.
