  1. I whistled while I worked.
Had to do some carpentry this week. These rotten, old steps and the stoop had reached the danger level and had to be replaced. To save money, it's a hybrid of old and new. The actual platform is still strong although it is weathered and ugly.
I replaced the floor of the stoop last week and cut the steps as well but ran out of time to finish it that day. Brother Carl and his wife Brenda told me that i can get the stringers pre-made at Lowe's or Home Depot, unfortunately, they're not tall enough. They're only 27" and I needed 30", so I used the old ones as templates for the new ones.
Cutting the first stringer went fine, but while making the second one, I accidentally let all of the smoke out of my friend Willard's circular saw. That thing had to be 30 or 40 years old. Off to Walmart* I went to get another saw. Thirty-five bucks. Not bad.
It cut like a dream and in my excitement, I lost track of what I was supposed to be cutting and went too far, rendering that piece of wood useless. Back to Home Depot for another 2x10x8.
I was more careful the second time and all that was left was putting it all together.
Certainly not up to carpenter Ronnie Bible standards, but it's strong. I expect it to outlive me, despite there not being a straight line or anything plumb and level on the whole thing. The feet of the stairs are kinda pigeon-toed, too.

Thx, Wookie. I set the punch in / out because I want the loop to play a wider range than I'm recording to give me runway to be ready. That shouldn't cause this issue, should it?

I think setting 2 loops, basically, is messing something up.

How to make Midi and Audio clip start to sound later by 50 ms, without moving them along the line of time

I don't see how you can do this without physically moving the clips.
Maybe a delay which allows you to set 'dry' and 'wet' conditions, i.e. the delay is set for 50 ms with the original, uneffected audio 100% dry so it's not heard, and the delayed audio is then heard later. Is there even a delay which can do that?

  4. This is from their web site: "RECORD AND CONNECT TO PC: This personal mixer has a USB soundcard and audio interface to record and connect to MAC or PC"

That doesn't mean it can record to PC 12 tracks at a time, though. Many of these low-cost USB mixers will only record a stereo signal to the computer. And as mentioned, I don't see anything about what driver it uses. For 185 USD, I don't think it will do what you want.

An audio interface that has native ASIO drivers and can record that many tracks will be needed.

I've always wondered how many tracks you could get on the console with the monitor flipped 90 degrees?

Using math (maths), and my current configuration, I would be able to view about 45 tracks with the monitor in a vertical orientation.

    I don't use sonar

    This is the Sonar forum.

But it is the General Music Discussion forum.
So, what audio interface are you using?

Are you referring to the button on each track that says, "Waveform preview"? In Caketalking, it automatically announces that, then says "Don't press this button. It will result in unpredictable results!". I'm not sure what that means exactly. I wish someone could explain. What unpredictable results is this referring to?

I have never heard of any problems using Waveform Preview in Cakewalk. This feature offers up a visible approximation of the sound waves in a track while you're recording. I don't think that is something you would need or want. Maybe they mean when using Caketalking and Waveform Preview together.

I think John Vere may be referring to a recording software called Waveform. This is the first I've heard of it, but it does exist.

  8. I have the Fender Mustang I and it's capable of interfacing with a computer via USB, BUT (notice that's a big but), it uses its own driver, which means you won't be able to use an audio interface with ASIO drivers and the Mustang at the same time. Another driver mode could cause timing issues, intolerable latency and possibly other problems.
You would have to try it with another driver mode, such as WASAPI or the older WDM/KS. WASAPI would probably give the best result here, if the Mustang can operate with it.
The best use of the Fender USB interface I can see is for downloading new and different patches created by other Mustang users from the internet.
I didn't purchase my Mustang for the ability to interface with a computer.

I bought mine 4-5 years ago and perhaps things have changed since then. Good luck!

I know all these ways. It would be nice to be able to drag and drop the entire effects basket onto another track.

Create an FX Chain and put that in any track's bin.

I don't know all the ins and outs of this method, but I quickly made a chain in an audio track with 5 effects, saved it as an FX Chain then inserted that FX Chain Preset in several different audio tracks.
