  1. I have NX and this, never understood the want, the need, the desire for the hardware tracker thingy, just couldn't grasp it.
  2. It is available, it was available before this thread. Demo'd, uninstalled, not for me, have better sounding Fender sims (imo, ymmv)
  3. Yeah, computers, they have a mind of their own. I have all the PG stuff BIAS Amp 1/2 BIAS FX 1/2, BIAS Pedal, the Pro Series Comps and EQ's, never had a problem with any of them, except for wishing they would add some features, but performance and everything, no issues. I guess it comes down to the sheer amount of configs you can have with different hardware, different installed software etc. But this is the first time I've really had an issue with a plugin that I can remember, so I guess can't really complain. Having said that, I'm not sure if it's an issue or not lol, like it works fine, I have no issues using it, just that compared to everything else similar, BIAS FX, Amplitube, Kuassa A360, Revalver etc, the CPU use seems very high.
  4. Yeah, Amp Room is around %20 here as well, when say BIAS FX 2 is around 3%, Kuassa A360 around 6%, depends on what patch is loaded of course. My own are usually single amp with chorus. delay, flanger, phaser at the most, any other FX, comp, EQ etc are outside any Amp Sim for me. When I tested a similar chain outside Amp Room using the same Amps, Studio Ones Splitters and replacement FX units and came in at around 20% or whatever less than the Amp Room chain, well I'll just stay outside it. I just hope any future amps they release are available outside Amp Room like the Marshall's and Eden and Vintage, Metal and Bass are now, and not just kept within the Amp Room ecosystem, that could be a bummer. I still think there is something going on with Amp Room at least regarding Studio One, and am hopeful it may change in the future. But it doesn't matter, I still have the Amps outside, and that for me is the main thing, I just love those amps.
  5. an example, I just loaded up a blank project, inserted 12 tracks, each track with Amp Room inserted with the 80's pop rhythm preset loaded, so that's 12 instances, no problems what so ever, and it reads only <5% CPU more than 1 instance does on it's own in my regular Template. I've tried recreating template from scratch, no good. Tried to find if it's not getting along with other plugs in my templates, but like with the SSL above, it seems like you have found it then . . . NA, try again. I'll just leave it, like I said I have all the Amps outside anyway, and they are fine, I got heaps of FX so that's no problem. Don't want to keep chasing my tail with this.
  6. I have no issue running it, it just uses far more CPU than any other equivalent Amp Sims, and as I said earlier I can recreate a chain from a preset in the new Amp Room, outside it using the same amps, but replacements for the FX etc with equivalents, plus with a lot more plugs in my regular guitar track template and it's 25% CPU lower for basically the same thing, just outside the new Amp Room.
  7. I run all the same amps outside the New Amp Room without even breaking a sweat. Way above Amp Room System requirements
  8. It doesn't have any problem with anything else, and I run heaps of stuff. It has a dedicated nVidia graphics card.
  9. Here is what you have to do to change your Email for your PG account, it's basically creating a new account then contacting PG and they will transfer over your licenses. You could just create a generic email like PGaccount243@gmail.com, see if you can get away with changing your name if that concerns you or is indeed needed. https://help.positivegrid.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005025783-How-to-Change-My-Email-for-My-Account-
  10. Sell your account. I was just thinking of selling my S-Gear 2, but it's the same as far as I can tell, no resale allowed. But with S-Gear, I can more easily change the details of my account on the S-Gear site, Name, Email Address etc, not so easy to change that self identifiable stuff on the PG site if memory serves me correct.
  11. Regarding these I think azslow3 put it best on the old forums http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3776855 But I guess they do 'interface' between devices, but considering what most people consider as an 'Audio Interface' these fall somewhat short. I doubt anyone is going swap their RME, Motu, Focusrite, etc for 1 of these. But they do seem to fit inline with the group BandLab are targeting with the online BandLab stuff.
  12. I already tried disabling the OpenGL graphics option, didn't make any difference for me, apart from being uglier. After more lengthy testing things I can honestly say I have no idea other than Amp Room is just CPU intensive. I originally thought it was fine in REAPER, but no it's the same for me going by REAPER's performance monitor. Not that it's unusable, but I would say 3 or 4 instances at a time would make it so. I will leave it there, I have all the amps available separately in their original releases at least, and they all behave well, so I am thankful for that. First plugin I can recall having issues with, bummer. Now that I have Windows is up to date, at least support might look more favorably upon it, we shall see.
  13. Well I have updated Windows 10 to 1903 and it says it's up to date, but also says I can download and install 1909 if I want, but I thought I would just stay there for now. I tested Amp Room in Studio One again, still the same, then I had a thought and instead of adding it to a track with my Guitar chain alread present, just add it to a blank track, it loaded quickly and behaved itself CPU wise. So I added it to my regular guitar track again and started going through and turning off the other plugins on that track 1 by 1. It turns out that it doesn't seem to get along with Waves SSL Channel, if I switch it off CPU use drops about 25%, switch it back on CPU use jumps up about 25%, repeatable over and over again. Then I had another thought, as usual my guitar tracks are mono, so I use the Mono version of the SSLChannel plug, so I switched it out for the Stereo version of the SSL plug, CPU use behaves itself, disable the stereo plug and enable the Mono version, CPU jumps up again. Messed around with the 'L Stereo R' input thing at the top of Amp Room and different Mono/Stereo SSL plug, but doesn't seem to make a difference. So as long as I use the Stereo version of the Waves SSLChannel it's all good. Strange. No that's not it.
  14. To you gentleman, again, thank you, it really does help and bring some light to an otherwise dark time (and here I am tearing up as I read and type) Thank you. Done some investigating this morning, getting my mind off things for a bit, using Amp Room's 80's Pop Rhythm preset. I recreated it (outside Amp Room) using Studio Ones Splitter's to recreate the dual/split paths and replacing the various FX pedals/racks etc with others I have, using the same 2 amps from the Vintage Amp Room pack into 2 instances of Recab5 with cab IR's loaded, matched all settings best I could, basically recreating the chain outside of Amp Room as close as I could. The result was a 25% lower CPU reading than the equivalent with the New Amp Room. Then I fired up REAPER still back on v5.9, not going to buy another license, anyway inserted Amp Room, it opened up quick, something it didn't do in S1, it took a while, then loaded up 80's Pop Rhythm preset and the CPU use was nothing really out of the ordinary, so I guess it is something to do with Studio One, or perhaps because I am still on Windows 10 v1803? Anyone with Studio One notice that Amp Room takes a while to load, and then seems to use excessive CPU? Guess I'll back up my system drive then let it update Windows 10 to the latest and see if that does anything, when support get back to me you can be assured that will be one of the first things they say.
  15. Well the worst of times to be sure, I will be waiting around while my dad still lives, which by all accounts won't be long, he just looks like a shell now, and on top of that dementia look, very sad. The QLD Premier will be opening the borders it seems in July, so I can get back to Townsville gather up a few things and arrange for everything there to be sold there, then back to NSW and do what can be done with DAD. Personally, had a Brain/CT scan this morning, echocardiogram this afternoon, MRI of the abdomen next week, another endoscopy and colonoscopy in the coming weeks, totally sick of being prodded and poked and scanned and needles, the funny part is I feel reasonably well except for a few niggles, but I know that will change soon enough. Anyway thank you everyone, seems I'll still be around until dad passes, unless my turn comes first, probably wont be long before Dad doesn't know who anyone is, oh well nothing you can do about it, it is what it is. Thanks again all
  16. Well my not being able to work out how to inset the Marshall Plexi or Marshall Kerry King Signature or the Eden WT800 was just a matter of downloading the latest updates for each, now they show up and work fine. Still the CPU issue, don't see the point in using Amp Room to run them when I could run them on their own at lower CPU. Oh and found the manual in the FAQ's. Isn't it funny how life changes priorities, came back from the doctors this morning to the news that my mum has passed away, it's been coming, terminal cancer, the doctor said that now she has gone my dad likely wont last long, he has dementia and has probably been holding on for mum. So things aren't good here at the moment. It has really brought things into perspective, and I have probably been masking my own issues with frivolous activities for a while now, but the recent events have brought it home all to clear. So I'll be off and preparing for a journey as soon as the borders here open up allowing travel, likely not to return. When the time comes I wont allow myself to go through the pain and misery that I know is coming, I watched my brother go through that 18 months ago, no thank you, I'll check out before that. Do yourselves a favor, check out the Softube Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959, and the Softube Marshall Kerry King Signature Series, and the Eden WT800 Bass Amp sim, all simply awesome. Fair thee well 👋👋👋
  17. If you are eligible for upgrade price, the upgrade button should be there near the Buy button, but as you don't have an account you won't see it I guess. I seen either a Vintage Amp Room or Metal Amp Room(perhaps both in different posts?) for sale on KVR the other day.
  18. Fairly CPU hungry. I can't for the life of me work out how to get the Plexi, the KK Signature or the Eden WT in there, and I can't find a manual. I'll leave it for now and wait until if and when they reign in the CPU, would like to work out how to get the new amps in though. I was wanting something like this, similar to Kuassa's A360 to house the amps and add pedals etc, but not at the cost of CPU as is the case here, the Amps outside this are very CPU efficient. Oh well, keep watching it, send in a feature request for in app IR loader and request some CPU optimization, whether it will do any good is another thing.
  19. Dang, in my excitement to grab this I forgot to use the 15% code, I got it for $29 anyway, the code may not have worked for me. Oh well, if this is anything like the quality of the Plexi and the KK Signature (Vintage Amp Room Vintage and Metal Amp Room and Bass Amp Room were no slouches either) should be a good ride, not really expecting that though for the price, but want say no😇 1 good thing, it supposedly leaves the others, Pexi, KK, Eden, and original Amp Room collection alone, although with the ability to use them inside the new Amp Room, so no worries if it's a downer. Grabbed the Marshall Cab pack as well, only thin that worries me is not being able to use 3rd party IR's, apart from wrongly after the Plugin itself, will see, and send off some feature requests if need be. Oh well installation has finished, I'm off
  20. That is of course your opinion. Myself and a lot of other people will disagree. From reading the above I think you know BFD and it's kits, both stock and addons as well as you think. Anyway it doesn't matter, as long as each is happy with what they use, that is all that matters. imo, ymmv. etc etc
  21. Scratch that for now, not even up on the Eventide Site yet, so no demo for now.
  22. Have to download and give this a whirl, Crushstation, Micro Pitch and Rotary Mod turned out to be quite useful to me, see how it goes, price is right.
  23. Yes that was . . . well an odd move on their part, I still purchased SD3, but sold it a few months later as IMO BFD3 still sounds much better and more realistic. Personally never liked SD2, owned it and all it's addons (never used it) thought it sounded like crap, and the GUI, . . . well . . but that's just me, IMO, YMMV etc etc
  24. It's like the Colonels secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices, only it's fed to a bus with another 3 or 4 secret herbs and spices, both mixing together at a 1 to .6 ratio to reveal that crispy, crunchiness we all love (at least I do) Experimentation, follow your ears, don't be afraid to use more than 1 comp or EQ etc . . . If the above free stuff really does it for you, then you're laughing all the way to the bank, just because it does zilch for me or anyone else is of no consequence. Personally I don't use any 'Free' stuff, unless it's commercial products that are/have been given away during promotions, or maybe given from Commercial developers etc. Other than that, experience has taught me not to bother, not worth the effort. Again that's just me, IMO, YMMV, et etc. I've tried most, don't use any, don't bother much trying anymore unless there is a real buzz surrounding it, still don't use any. imo, ymmv, etc ©®
