Nice little ditty.  I enjoyed it and your pictures very much.  I lived close to Folly Beach.  I miss the sounds of the coast sometimes.  One thing I don't miss is in the summer time you could just about set your watch by the daily thunderstorms; start at 4:30 PM and end a few minutes before 5!

First time I have been in the area.  We really liked it there.   I think we got hit by a couple of those 4:30 thunderstorms, though.

  3. I think if I were meditating right now this would be perfect, but, full disclosure, I fast forwarded to 4 minutes, after listening to the first full chord decay.  Loved everything after that :)

  4. This is a little tune I wrote with pictures from our vacation in Folly Beach, SC.  I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for listening and the feedback!

I really liked the clarity and panning . What synth(s) did you use. There is a Lot of cool sounds here.  Enjoyed it.       mark

Thanks!  I made this in FL Studio Mobile on my android table, so all the synths are what are built in and come with it - Minisynth, DirectWave and GMS.

I thought this track had a cool vibe to it - I liked the bass synth patch which drives the song.

This would be cool for a TV or movie soundtrack - well done.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.  I really appreciate it.

  7. Very nice piece and well arranged.   I've been playing with orchestration, too, so it's cool to see others on the same journey.

About halfway through, I really found myself wanting a nice sustained cello to come in, or maybe some bass pizzicato notes to add some low-end.  Just a thought.

  8. Been a while since I had a new song. Organilectro. I did this one entirely on my tablet using FL Studio Mobile. Suggestions on how to improve it are greatly appreciated.

    Wonderful.

We gave lessons to our four kids when the turned 10. Of the four my oldest son stuck with it. He's 45 now and is still in a band that records and tours (tamped down by COVID right now) and works at Ubisoft on the Rocksmith product line.

That's awesome that your son kept with it.  Thanks for sharing his story!

  10. So, I taught my 8 and 10 year olds how to do multi-track recording on the digital piano this weekend. They both insisted on recording four tracks per song and making videos. I just had to share ? I surely didn't do anything like this when I was their age!

    Jeff,

Yes, I think this version is better than the previous version.    Close to the original version EQ but the instrumentation is more defined with the BBC samples than Kontakt instruments.   Sounds good, I'm sure others will chime in as well.     This music really resonates  because, for me,  it embodies the great generation that came before us in  addition to being a really great tribute for you father.

    Regards

Thank you..  I truly appreciate your comment.

I have occasionally gone back and listened to your original version over the past year, it is a very inspiring composition and excellent tribute.   For that reason am kind of partial to the original version.     I think the brighter sound of the new version may be contributing to that, not sure if it is the newer instrumentation or if you have EQ'd brighter, etc...     I guess to my ears the original version sounds like it is all together in a single space where the updated version doesn't have that feel of common space as much.   Would maybe consider a darker common reverb for the updated version.

I really appreciate the comment and the fact that you have gone back to listen to the original version from time to time.  That means a lot to me.

For what it's worth when I first changed the samples, it took a little getting used to for me, having listened to the original so many times.  However, after reading your comment I went back and took another listen and made some additional adjustments to the EQ.  I just posted the most recent updated version.

    Thanks again for the feedback.

I'm on laptop so can't really judge the mix except but as others have said maybe bring up vol. or eq the snare so it cuts through the mix a little more. I enjoyed the composition, very nice.

Thanks so much for the listen and the feedback!

This may sound strange but that was a pleasant start to the day.  All ways hard to write for someone close, thanks for sharing.

This makes me so glad to hear that.   I wanted this to be a sad piece but also happy in all the memories, so I hope that came though  a little bit.
