Is there any new information about the icons route?

If you mean "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Cache\images" you will not be seeing this if you don't have installed the old Cakewalk that was before Bandlab took over.

  2. Probably some background process taking the focus away from the audio interface.

Cakewalk knows that there should be sound there and outlines it but the audio interface can't fill it with sound. Until the background process is finished and lets the audio interface take control again.

  3. It's not clear where you expect the sound to come from.

In the preferences/audio/playback and recording select wasapi instead of asio.

In the preferences/audio/devices - output drivers probably will have realtek. Select that.

The audio track output is master. Change to that if it isn't.

If it should come from the Casio there need to be a audio cable from the laptops audio out to Casios audio in.

  4. Could we have a picture of the track headers when you set that "mix" setting upper right to "all" ?

My guess is that you don't have the track routing right.

The staff have midi output that should go to the Halion track. To me it seems to go external to your Casio.

It isn't crystal clear for me but all sound from speakers and headphones should be taken from your Focusrite 2i2.

...Clicked on the square icon at the top right where you do this, saw that it's now is on the list referred to in the previous paragraph but when I clicked on it,instead of opening I got the pop-up-

"The selected content location referenced missing files-C/User/Owner/Downloads/(folder name)-zip."

Double-checked/re-opened the folder itself in the Media Browser, verified all the subfolders were there..is the pop-up related to what I was asking about earlier above re-"Extract"....???

Very likely. Use windows fileexplorer and go to C/User/Owner/Downloads/(folder name)-zip and rightclick on the "(folder name)-zip" and i think you should find an option to extract there. Or you could open a second fileexplorer window and make a folder named "your namechoice". Then move the files from "(folder name)-zip"to it. They will be copied there and are no longer compressed and can now be used in Cakewalk.

I think windows has the ability to extract zipfiles in the rightclick menu. Personally i have downloaded and installed 7zip. Which is a free software that is able to extract lot of different compressed formats like zip, rar, ace and more.

    Thanks for the feedback.
    In general I always prefer 64-bit VST3s.

With your opinion, I was wondering what was the reason for putting these details in this menu....

And not be able to be in this help message as well???

I only keep an eye on the development. Don't use early access. I don't use the insert menu. Only wanted to correct incorrect writings.

About the insert menu. I could see early on that it would be awkward to use it with lots of plugins installed. So i use the browser and drag&drop.

Which means: Whatever you early access users and developers decide is fine with me.

    Thanks.

I explain the relevance that this little information would have for us to improve our projects in terms of efficiency.

We know that VST3 plugins have better performance and, therefore, in the inclusions we made we already prioritized making them with this type, as the inclusions menu brought us this.

It happens that we can open projects where the option to choose between VST3 and VST2 plugins was not possible/visible as in the current menus.
So, with the addition of this little information, as I suggested, it would help us to improve the performances of our current projects, either by being able to choose to include the VST3 version for the old plugin if it exists or by improving the way we work with it. within the application with the setting for JBridge when VST2.

I hope I was able to clarify the reason for my request.

    Thanks.

Please update your knowledge on vst2 and vst3. Especially vst2 32-bit and 64-bit where the performance could play a roll.

More exactly, very few vst2 in use today are 32-bit and have a need for jbridge.

So i have discovered that my transport only moves that far any time I hit the play button.  I was recording some guitar tracks and the transport never really moved down the track showing me that I'm recording any guitar.  When I stop the recording it does play back what i played but the transport does not move along with it.  I was wondering why it did not move with my music.  I bet whatever is causing it to only move a little and stop would fix the whole thing.

That suggest something happend with the settings when you set it up for recording.

But why something is telling the transport to stop after one beat is the question.

I am not recommending this VST, I just stumbled across it as a free Melodyne alternative, but for me, the things it does not duplicate of Melodyne are the reasons I even looked for a free alternative. But still, it looks like it may be of interest. AS I said, I haven't tried it, but would be interested to find out if it works well in Cakewalk.

    And the website is:

    https://samplab.com/plugin

It appears to be in early development. I was surprised how it could break apart the individual notes in a chord, into a playable instrument; didnt know that Melodyne could even do that.

It's an ok plugin. There's a post about it in the DEAL forum.

What's a bit problematic is that you send a file to their webserver and getting it back treated with their AI.

If they after some time say you have to pay that would render it useless if you don't.

As opposed to no-cloud plugins where you always can stay and use the last working version if it goes payware.

  10. I use win7 and 8.1. You can make an image and save/load it to a harddrive of your choice. I do that for backups.

I use either external ssd with usb3 or to a simple nas that i made out of an old windows home server with 4 disks.

I just checked and my internet speed in a rent apartment house, Sweden Stockholm, is 207 Mbps down and 11 Mbps up. Cost is 50 euro/month.

So I found out what you meant now. It did allow me to access my samples but now Cakewalk won't let me use them.

    image.png.b31e19a2322d5bec188fd5572b6ca624.png

That's the same thing I see in File Explorer. How do I make it so that these samples can be used in Cakewalk?

    That ".DS_Store" is indeed Macosx.

    Good luck uncompressing those. 🤕

  12. @User 905133

I think you found the reason  why it can't be used. 👍

It makes sense that a media file that can't be played in windows is for Macosx.

    ADDED:

    Wait a minute...Mac has wav-files too.

If it was a wav it would associate as Microsoft sound file. Being associated with a general media file suggests that the filetype is unknown but have some data in the header that says it has to do with media.

This could then mean that it IS a Macosx-file but NOT a wav-file.

If you learn how to display filetypes it would be easy to tell which files in a folder that are wav-files.

It is also a bit safer to have the filetypes shown.

Naked woman.jpg ---what you see without filetypes showing. Could fool you to think it is a picture.

Naked woman.jpg.exe ---what you see with filetypes showing. Now you can see that this file is dangerous.
