  1. Now THAT was fun!!!

Honkey Tonk for sure!  Had me bobbin my head and pattin my feet to that one.

LOVE the sound (had an old vintage vibe to it) and absolutely LOVED THE HARMONICA!...

Glad you resurrected it and shared.  Fun stuff...

  2. Hi Kevin,

    Nice song you have there.

    Fun one to listen to.

Only things I noticed was that there was some static that came in (very brief but a couple of times) starting at about the 30 second mark.

I think it was in the vocals, but I'm not sure.

Also the kick was rather quiet (I'm a "kickman" myself...LOL)..  Just me I guess.

Otherwise, great start!  Keep on pluggin away.  Would LOVE to hear the final outcome of this.

Like I said, was a fun one to listen to.

  3. HI TVR,

There are a couple of ways to do this actually.

1st way is, like you said to add a stereo bus and "send" some of your signal over to the bus.

When you solo, solo the bus to hear the effect and adjust as necessary..

2nd way is to use an Aux track.  This would work in the same way the bus track would, only you can use put it right next to the original track.

You would "send" your signal to the Aux track (same as the bus)..

Remember though, you can send 2 different ways...

Pre - which means you send the signal before any channel processing (volume included)  or

Post - all processing (including track volume) will be sent.

    Hope this helps some.

  4. Hey Kenny,

Got a chance to listen to the new mix.  Low end is still a little boomy (didn't catch that the first time, probably because I was on office cans), but not overpowering...  Rest of mix is better, so it's not so bad...

You DID take out Mr Mumbles...LOL  Yeah, a botox injection just might mess up errthang...LOL 😂

I think the long silence on the ending is a little jarring..  But who am I??  I still enjoyed the song nonetheless and I DO think it's improving with each pass you make...

Yes, your solos are  tha bomb. 😎

  5. Man!  What a cool song to bob my head to!

Got some really quick hands.  So much so I had to back it up a few times to make sure my brain didn't miss anything.

Absolutely adore your intro.  And from that note on, I was hooked on the bassline.

    Congrats on another "keeper" man.

  6. Hi Kenny!

Really enjoyed that one!  Loved your playing (especially the 2nd half which the tone was right up my alley).

Although I'm not a guitar player, I always enjoy a good guitar solo (and you had multiple)..

Yeah, not a total fan of the ending, but that just means start the song over and keep on funkin.. 😊

  7. Happy Ron,

The song sounds good, however is that how you want it?

From your post, you mention trying out the intro with just one guitar playing...

I would try it , but if you do try putting it a bit more center until the other guitar (or vocals) come in.

Also, nothing wrong with trying stuff (time permit)...  You can try breaking down the drums in the beginning (making it a bit longer intro).

But that all depends on what you're going for (and what lengths you're willing to experiment with it).

Like I said though.  It's a good song.  Nothing wrong with leaving it just the way it is too...

  8.

Plugin Alliance HG-2 Black box...  Got this not too long ago and it's been a staple ever since. It's got a mojo...

Waves J37 Tape, love the sound of this (and it's not too hard to dial in)

Kramer Master Tape (fairly easy to get a good sound from)

Plugin Alliance - Character (if you don't put too much, you can get a really nice sound out of it)

Cakewalk's Tape Sim  - Been using this one for a long time.  Sometimes forget I have it on (it's on my template) and go to turn it off... Nothing doing.  Have to turn it right back on.

Did you miss the 4 themes of mine that have modified default icons? No colors but modified to match the theme, Quite possible you missed them as these icons are known to be a bit sticky and sometimes won't change to the theme images until you do all sorts like close and open cakewalk or swap themes a few times. Good idea to add color though. 😎

I have noticed that on your latest one, they looked a bit "shinier". 😁

My reference was more to including them to the color scheme...

Something I noticed when checking out all these beautiful themes, I currently have at least 10 of them installed on my system and none of them change the color of the default track icons in the Console View.

I thought that this was odd, given all the hours of hard work the themeweavers put in to come up with these dazzling color combinations. Maybe they (you) don't use track icons.

Anyway, I got bored looking at the same grey ones sitting in the midst of all the great-looking colors, so I fired up a copy of GIMP and got to work, using @Matthew White's M-Lux Blue as a starting point.

They might be a bit rough in spots compared to what a more experienced pixel jockey could do, but I like how it came out as a proof of concept. If anyone is interested in incorporating these in their themes I can make them available, even do some more work on the pixels.

    Hi Erik,

I really like what you did and the idea of it.

I typically use custom icons once I get going on a song/project, but having the default icons somehow relate to the theme would be nice.

Maybe the rest of the themeweavers out there could give it a spin??? 🙏

  11. Hi Marco,

As others have said, the "record count in" feature is for recording only.  Once recording is complete, it  reverts back to straight playback (without the count in).

One way around this is to record with no count in (using 2 measures as an example).  that way when you play back (leaving the metronome on) you get the 2 measure count in.

As a bonus, you can turn off the metronome when you want and just have silence before your comp starts..👍

Maybe they are reacting to PA sky-high-into-the-stratosphere prices on their new stuff that they just put out that Waves think "Maybe we misjudged the market, and people really want to pay more than $29 for our plugins!!!"

    🙄 yeah... Just maybe... 🙄

Wait, my email said this secret sale was just for me!  Did you guys get the same email?  I'm upset!

    I got the same email...😟

    With the Same "meh" deals...

They still want me to pay double...

I know... I'll WAIT for the summer sales!!  Oh wait.... They're gone... 😟

It's too bad that they cut that video at both ends.  That song is too smooth to have to live with the abrupt beginning and ending (IMNSHO!).

I agree.  I've been watching a show with my wife and daughter that does the same thing...

    Hate that! 😠

I can't tell the difference between this 24h Secret Sale and the 24/7/365 In Your Face Sale.

Actually the 24th secret sale is more expensive.. 😟

It's like they are trying to make me pay double for missing the last sale... 🙄

  16. I've had times when Absynth 5 does the same thing.  What I found it to be (most of the time) is a CC controller (like Modulation) was triggered somehow.

This has caused it to "reset" resulting in no sound.  I've toggled the preset button to the next one and back the the sound came back.

Now, I just add an envelope that keeps the midi control at it's original value (until I'm ready to automate).

    Hope it helps.

  17. David,

Beautiful composition and melody.  Really speaks out and I love your playing style.

As I typically do my share of midi correcting, I thought I'd be able to hear/feel the "cheat" but I couldn't.

The song breathes very nicely and flows very easily.

My wife also wanted to hear me play on a piano after having played on  "keyboards" for years.  Although I didn't get a G3 she found a way to buy, bring in the house (without me seeing and surprise me for my birthday with an "antique" baby grand). I understand the elation.

Congrats to you on making beautiful music.

  18. I have the 8" version of these and they are very good.  when I bought them (from GC), I was able to listen to them side by side with a bunch of other brands.

As I already had a previous pari of JBLs, these were no brainers for me.

At $89, they are perfect for someone in need of a solid pair of monitors.
