It’s very clunky to do this with cakewalk. There are lots of DJ players that do this with a simple slide control. I had the software back in XP days.it was called Virtual DJ. Probably long gone.
Nope just checked and it’s still made- Virtual DJ 2023. $18.
There might be others but it had both tempo matching with speed that could be set to change the pitch or keep it.
Its a multi step process in Cakewalk involving so much I always forget how to do it.
Thank you for sharing your channel. I find very informative.

to be clear,
i think i saw it on the plant/page collab, and not necessarily zep...
those guys are synonomous with 'zep', so it all kinda falls under the same umbrella
Thank you for clarifying your point. I actually saw a different post regarding Zep using bodhran in their performance. However I cannot find that exact post now.

THAT'S SO COOL, the bodhran, i've seen it used quite a few times,
even in a led zeppelin context,
i'd love to get one and try to learn some basic rhythms.
i'm also wanting to get one of those baritone recorder, just cuz of stupid grogu!
LOL
thanks for listening, the drum parts i program from scratch using superior drummer 3,
usually i start with a loop from the library that i close, then i move stuff around and edit, to use it as a main rhythm motif.
but i love working with real percussionists!
Yep, I've heard Led Zep have bodhrans in their act. Definitely has its on stage appeal.

As an amateur bodhran player, I'm particularly drawn to the rhythm and how well both kits complement the overall energy of the song.

Hello , here's a new instrumental I'm finishing up. I rarely play mandolin or cello but enjoy playing both . Thought I'd do a no pressure instrumental in between vocal songs. Yairi acoustic , "A'"style mandolin and cello used. Kick was built from finger tapping a 15" speaker and percussion (some of it reversed) from tapping and slapping a guitar body. TTS brush kit and additional percussion used. I finally got to use the "whoo" in TTS in a couple of spots. All suggestions for improvement are welcomed .
Thanks .. mark

I like the combination of stringed and percussion instruments on this one. May I suggest however a slight drum beat to accentuate the high tone of the strings and maracas.

LOL!!! Great analogy!! Those things would rust up and tear the end of my fingers up!! I had forgot about that!
Yep. I had a guitar from Western Auto as my first guitar. I don't remember if it had any name on it. But I do remember that very high action!! That didn't bother me as much as trying to play chords up the neck. Further up the neck I would go, the more out of tune it would get. Just no intonation on it at all!!

A guitar player I knew bought Black Diamond brand strings, bought a banjo string for the first string, a first string for the second, second for the third, wound third for the fourth, fourth for the fifth, and fifth for the sixth. It was a home-made light gauge string set, before they started selling light gauge sets.
He said he learned that trick while in Nashville.
I used to buy individual reeds. I'd go to the music store, hold the reed up to the light to see if the grain was even, and reject the bad ones. You can't do that anymore, either.
So I guess the individual string and reed era ended decades ago.

Thanks... it's nice to know the "Juno" reference, too. There is so little available as far as literature for the Poly D, since most of the questions would be answered in studying what it's a clone of (Minimoog Model D) , but as for the Chorus (and thus any stereo) I didn't know what the inspiration was. Now I see those same buttons on Juno clone pedals. Much appreciated.
That OB-X8 with the pan-spread of oscillators sounded interesting so I looked it up. That's "a pricey a'meatball, ah?!". I guess it inspired the Behringer UB-Xa clone, and I see the mono as well as the L and R, like you said about the original Oberheim. I'm lucky I didnt see that when I was shopping. The Poly D will keep me busy; the inspiration to get an affordable analog synth (instead of just plugins) was BBC Radiophonic Workshop's work on original Hitchiker's Guide soundtracks, and the more synthy versions of Journey of the Sorcerer used as the theme song . I practice banjo (as in said song) which may fit into space gaming music more than some might think, hehe.
Thanks to everyone for replying. Sure enough, so far, the only visual difference I've noticed between L and R wave forms (as in David's suggestion) is with the Chorus engaged.
Thanks for sharing your synth journey! The Juno connection and exploration of the OB-X8 sound intriguing. The banjo twist in space gaming music is a cool touch. Enjoy your Poly D adventure! It may not be a game but it seems to remind me of the anime Cowboy Bebop.

ok, remixed the entire thing, using the ideas folks gave me! thanks for that...
and re-eq'd the entire drum kit.

Achieving a warm clawhammer banjo sound is always a nice touch. It's unfortunate that the left-hand position moves up with the 5th string hits, causing some inconvenience. Hopefully, Ample Sound takes the feedback into account for Banjo 2.0. Despite the challenge, your use of the banjo as background support sounds great.

It's always helpful to get input, especially on maintaining momentum in certain sections.

I've got a 16" and I think it projects great! It's a drum, so I supposed you'd have to amp it in a large venue but it plays pretty loud...
I see now. Do you use a particular amp and mic setup for your bodhran?

A little late to the party, but here's the odd assortment I purchased for "black Friday week":
- Joshua Bell Violin
- Triad Orbit mic stand to hold my Stam Audio U47 clone.
- UHE Diva
- Komplete 14 Collectors Edition upgrade.
- A Bodhran drum from McNeela Music in Ireland.
- The rest of the Topaz Labs suite (for upscaling images made in AI).
- BHaptics Suite with arm bands for more immersion in Skyrim VR. Arrives next week - super stoked!
- One year subscription to Solidworks Maker - I want to learn to do design some ideas I have an 3d print them.
- 4 ounces of a CBD strain I've been waiting on for months
- All parts to build a new DAW: Intel i9 14900, 64GB DDR5, Asus 4090 oc (because why not?), fans, drives, watercoolers, case, etc. Last new DAW build took me three weeks. I think I'm better prepared but I know this will be painful.
PS: Anyone know what to do with over $800 in Audio Plugin Deals rewards?
How was your bodhran? I heard that brand's product could use a little help from an amp?
