  1. goofball they admit they don't even support their product outside of a "quickstart" guide. There is nothing. Stop assuming its the poster's fault until you get the facts. Your snide comment drew first blood.
  2. Its cute how you assume there is some
  3. Ok, I did finally get one to play but only in the stand alone player , one called Kontakt (but Kontackt7 didn't work) after I set up the midi. Wow, extremely difficult to use and understand. Could not get it to play as an instrument in cakewalk. I'm missing a secret setting somewhere.
  4. thanks but its the same difference either way . I can't even get any sounds out of any of them even though my focusrite shows in the preferences the same way it does for cakewalk. Another one called Guitar Rig, can't get anything out of it , it seems to be a standalone midi instrument program but , donno.
  5. I installed some of these and they are detected and show in the instrument lists for VSTs But when I drag them to a track and select an instrument in them. Nothing plays. I can hear the sound when I select an instrument in the Kontact 7 window but after closing it it doesn't play. I am using one now called "Play Series" Anybody have any experience with this?
  6. The fix was to use TenCrazy FX on the soft synth inserted track with Cakewalk SI-Electric Piano. Your suggestion alone did not give sustain with that VST. It is true the controller has to be something besides "64 sustain" though. If it works for you on SI Electric Piano, see the comments regarding my older Roland keyboard which it does not work on. TenCrazy.com - MFX Plugins
  7. Well I couldn't figure out that FX so I emailed Mark L and was so glad he gave me instructions on how to set it up and I have sustain on the peddle now with the SI-Piano!!!
  8. True confession, I have the archaic Roland RD-200. I like the semi-weighted touch, sue me. And I had high hopes after reading this but after installing and running the bat file, the dll registered ok but I can't find the MFX in the plugin list and can't figure out how to add it to the track. I have the dll in the shared plugins folder and I see it in the UI, but can't add it, do you know now? From the look of the plugin , it looks like it can only be added to midi tracks, not VSTs.
  9. Another clue, when I open the SI Electric Piano UI and play the keys with the mouse click, the sustain peddle works.....?
  10. to give you an idea of my setup. I have a roland piano midi out into focusrite interface, focusrite is USB into computer. The Focusrite midi out goes back to roland piano midi in , then roland midi thru goes to another keyboard. When I play the roland piano with the sustain pedal , the other keyboard has sustain on it when the pedal is used, but the Cakewalk SI-Electric Piano does not.
  11. The sustain on mine is obvious during playback. During live play the sustain peddle has no effect. To re-iterate. The sustain peddle enters control events when recording and can be heard when recording is played back but not when playing live.
  12. From my understanding, thus far, that's just a bus, 1&2 is the output on my focusrite interface. I could just as easily select "master" and then the master bus could output to focusrite 1&2... I think
  13. I tried a couple of different settings on the inputs and outputs.
  14. They are there in the list from the sustain pedal on the keyboard. Weird how they are entered but I don't hear them until playback.
  15. Is there a way to get the sustain to work when playing it? I get sustain during playback of recording only. I see the control events entered by the sustain peddle after being recorded but how do you get that effect when playing it live?
  16. Thanks! nice editing tip.
  17. I'm trying to change the 'A' note with an Ab or G# , but not sure how this works. Is the min - max the measure? How do I limit this to one track? or one meausre? On the next screen "Note" checkbox is selected but "Key" isn't . I don't get it.
  18. Ok I finally found it, that screen sot was so small it was hard to tell where that drop down was. I think it should have been a submenu of the View menu actually.
  19. I opened up one of my old cakewalk files (.wrk) and noticed its showing pan and velocity on the track. On the old version it was easily seen on the track view but on new projects these aren't shown on the current cakewalk. What determines if these are shown or not? I can't display these on new projects.
  20. k thanks, that works. i used left mouse drag using selectin tool to select then delete.
  21. Thanks but I'm needing a definition or location for the "data" you mentioned. I thought the data was contained in a software object indicated by the yellow "volume" control label.
  22. Hey All what about SSD Hard drive? Is that better for this?
  23. was my Mom's back in 2012, correct! My brother thought it went bad and got her a new one, he was wrong, been using it ever since. Using Focusrite 2i4 with ASIO , by the way, I'm only getting out on RCA 1&2 not 3&4, do you know why that is? Will try Ram ++, that's a cheap upper.
  24. yes all of that sounds good , thanks
