  1. Just downloading and installing Sntronik 2 stuff from their last group buy was a nightmare like I've never experienced before , they haven't even fixed their Syner-v installation bug, their installation management and knowing that there is a limit on the download of 180 days , makes me really not likely to get anything else from them especially such a big installation like 3.5 max

According to people at VI Control it should work …

it seems :" The 30% saving excludes all libraries released in the last 12 months including Fractured Strings, Mercury, Abbey Road Two Iconic Strings, Abbey Road Two Iconic Strings Professional, Appassionata, Heirloom, Resonate, Polaris and any further releases. Also excluded are all Pianobook libraries, all bundles/collections and all SSDs and hard drives."

I saw this and it's sounds great

I'm still annoyed about the pianobook project now charging for some libraries so I'm going to pass.

I think Dan Keen has done a real good job of explaining why it was inevitable

There are some free libraries in Pianobook that can rival and surpass many paid ones, and many libraries  that have quirks that makes them highly unlikely to succeed commercially , but are unique and provide something that no paid library I've heard of can provide, which are probably my favorites

The cost of the servers alone must be significant (with free amazing libraries like hunter's The Wildmother's Dulcimer being 4+ Gb or a whooping 14+ Gb of Woodland Piano by ockpii)

From the get go it just couldn't have been sustainable without any money flowing in , though it would have been nice if it could have worked with donations like Blender or Krita

Featuring a full patch of Mmm Sustains

Immerse yourself in the world of contemporary vocals with this vast collection of evolving and percussive vocal textures, inspired by mythological Sirens. The library is performed by virtuoso soprano, Grace Davidson, who is known for her work on over 200 film soundtracks, and her collaborations with legendary composers such as Max Richter and Eric Whitacre.

Built for the free Kontakt Player, this library has a wonderfully compelling and intimate sound which is perfect for capturing a modern cinematic sound world. It features a shallow and depth slider which allows you to transform and twist the performance into a whole new dimension. Our custom user interface was carefully designed to be both intuitive and inspiring, allowing you to warp and shape your sound with filters, reverbs, distortion and much more.

THIS LIBRARY WORKS IN THE FREE KONTAKT PLAYER AND IS NKS COMPATIBLE

they also have 2 more KONTAKT Player freebies from before that are still available :

    - Contemporary Bass:  Freebie

    - Abstract Freebie

  5. They have a FAQ about the new features in rebbelle 5 and pro : https://www.escapemotions.com/community/forum/t/2108/what-are-the-new-features-of-rebelle-5

of which Pro has  what they call

    NanoPixel - High-Res Paintings & Canvases

and also - Pigments Color Mixing

They also have a tutorial on their papers, and explain that the texture actually affects how the paints goes and propagates on the canvas:

    Looks interesting.

Is there any real need to get any of the papers, canvases or other stuff that they sell separately? They remind me of game DLCs.

I got 3 from humble bundle along with various papers and stuff, and at least for me it didn't matter that much that it came with other papers , maybe for others it does ,  also other than papers they don't sell stuff for it (from what I know) , you can also download free brushes from the community at their site ,

Other than than they sell other apps that while I also got from the bundle I haven't used much so I really don't know if it's worth it for them

  8. Its kind of confusing , what's the difference between ethera 2.0 and ethera 1.2 and gold and ethera evi 2?

    edit: found 2 useful links

    - A definitive guide to the ETHERA series :  https://zero-g.co.uk/blogs/news/a-definitive-guide-to-the-ethera-series

    - and also a VI thread : https://vi-control.net/community/threads/looking-for-advice-from-any-owners-of-both-ethera-soundscapes-and-evi-2-0.92549/

    Thinking about this...

In addition to the things people have mentioned, there are a lot of interesting music-oriented foley that I think would work great with XO--Office, Kitchen Things, Trash, Industrial Complex, Human Body.  Sounds of Mexico City.   "Frightening Sounds" seems very interesting, but more for film sound design than music.

Also, there is  a $40 Orchestral MIDI library I have been looking at from Soundtrack Loops, so the $25 voucher could be interesting, depending on how long it lasts and whether they let you use it during a sale.  At list price the voucher isn't much of a help, because this goes down to $15 or $20 during a sale.

So my question is:  is Mixcraft 9 the kind of DAW that loads really fast?  For when I don't have the patience to load up Cubase?   I use Unify for this, but some things don't load in it, like Emvoice One.   Is Mixcraft Home Studio 8 more useful for this?  Can you load VSTs in it?

Maybe I should just install Cakewalk in my computer again?  😄   I had Sonar in my old computer and never put it in my new music computer.

If you're talking about the epic orchestral film score & midis you can get it for 0.99$ in a bundle at fanatical https://www.fanatical.com/en/pick-and-mix/build-your-own-game-music-super-bundle or 5 packs like this for 3.99$

also nice to know that you can listen to many of the sounds that are in those packs as they are also on sounds.com if you want to check if you're interested

As for Mixcraft 9 i also got it from the bundle and it works surprisingly fast and stable at least for me, as for 8 I think that it has 16 track limit but don't know if it has a restriction on 3rd party plugins
