  1. yes, missed that one last year re: pricing.......odd - this page says $99 https://www.sonokinetic.net/sale/ I'd suggest an accidental typo rather than an 8dio (or waves !)

    HorNET Winter Sale

I fully applaud Saverio and HoRNet, both his prices and excellent 'trust' licence model - doesn't mean we can't poke gentle fun at his sales strategy. I'm not sure that is 'ridicule' ? I'd also go on to say that his GUIs are fairly prehistoric and some of his programming leaves a lot to be desired. Never mind the quality, feel the width. I've bought lots of his plugins, not sure they ever actually get used however, but more power to his elbow. It's obvious that value for money is important - HoRNet delivers on that without question - and I'm glad you're happy with your purchases

    HorNET Winter Sale

phew - it's been nearly 27 minutes since the last HoRNet sale, I was getting worried
  5. picked this up a couple of days ago for those non-technical people (like me) - there is a folder called 'presets' - these are actually snapshots, so you dump these in the appropriate snapshot area. Doesn't seem to mention that in any of the release notes
  6. reminder that if you have nuendo then there is probably a 30% voucher in your account - only useable on the nugen website though,....but stackable.
  7. it most certainly does - and the stereo chorus sound absolutely amazing (distorted tones on the other hand ...well that's a different story)
  8. Earth Calling Steinberg We need to talk about your pricing !
  9. it wouldn't be Christmas without these long established traditions
  10. how do you do that if you don't have the original plugin loaded ? The alternative to what Cubase/Nuendo/VST3 is doing is for the project to tell you the plugin is missing and just 'drop' the data. If you do still have the original plugin loaded then Cubase/Nuendo won't just randomly replace it. Not sure what you are saying the negative of this approach is - I can't see one ? Like anything, there are ages cases where it won't be 100% successful but the alternative is to drop plugin altogether - and that is 100% not successful. So it's a win
  11. Of course, you can't be assured it will work 100%, you can't be assured that ANYTHING will ever work 100% - you can't even be assured that data will be loaded the same even on an 'updated' plugin - but as I say, what else do you expect the DAW to do ? When an older plugin is not present the DAW is told by the new plugin that it's compatible with older version of the plugin - it tells you that - then it attempts to load it. I think that's a great new feature in the latest VST3 SDK - I'm struggling to find any downside. Are you saying it's better that it doesn't even bother trying and just drops the plugin altogether ? FWIW I don't think I've ever had the issue with VST2 information loading incorrectly with VST3 versions (apart from Korg which was a bug that they fixed)
  12. it warns you when the original plugin is not available and tells you what it is changing it to - not sure what else you expect it to do ?
  13. possibly not, depending on your DAW - the latest Cubase/Nuendo version (plus latest VST3 SDK!) means that you can replace missing plugins with equivalent ones. I think Kontakt is the first one to take advantage of it and reports of it working well.
  14. didn't need an update for me and installed smoothly - still on NA v1 however
  15. yes - it's safe to install and it will run all your licensed stuff
  16. yes - as I say I can't be bothered to juggle the two different players (v7 just for that library and v6 for everything else) At some point I'll upgrade to K14, when the price is right
  17. they should work alongside each other just fine personally I'm not really fussed to install it just for one specific library........
  18. looks like it's kontakt 7 only, like yesterday's Sonokinetic giveaway Probably a push for all of us who haven't upgraded ?
  19. I think it was percussion ? It appeared a few hours ago. actually I think there has been two percussion updates in the last week ?
  20. no voucher for me - and I notice that I was 'unsubscribed' and I'm sure I was subscribed last year ?

    Liquidsonics Sale

all the Liquidsonics stuff is brilliant - support is first rate too. Also the very best loyalty scheme in the business in my opinion. All your loyalty voucher stack and so when new stuff is released you get it for, basically, peanuts. If you're buying more than one product it might be worth buying one-by-one so that you can use the vouchers sequentially if that makes sense ?
