  1. Thanks for your comments Tom.
  2. Thanks Bjorn - I do like the Gem Voice - it has quite a few different vocal tones to it, and I'm still learning it as I go - I'm happy with the purchase, since I'll be using it quite a bit.
  3. Thanks Wookiee - I think I agree with you on putting a bit more reverb on the vocal.
  4. Hi Everybody, This is a track off of the album I'm currently working on called "The Westerly Sessions Vol. III". As always, any comments or critiques are welcome. I sang the lead vocal with an AT4040 through an ART MPA Gold preamp, and I processed the lead vocal with my new toy - Overloud's Gem Voice. The drums are AD2 and the lead guitar parts were played with a Gibson Les Paul through TH-U. Here it is: https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14110778
  5. I thought you did a pretty good job on this cover - the groove is right where it should be.
  6. I also thought the trumpet sounded fine - I enjoyed the listen for this one - nice job - somber is a nice way to describe the mood of the song. Cool video as well.
  7. I had a good time working on this one with you - the instrumental version is quite pleasant to the ears - I like the main melody of it.
  8. I enjoyed the listen - this is a very creative instrumental. I was trying to think of something that it reminded me of, but I couldn't think of anything - so you score high on originality here. It was cool when the dual guitars kicked in towards the end. I thought the mix sounded quite good - lots going on in it - well done.
  9. This is back to a more traditional Wookie groove - I really liked that lead synth. As always - very creative - I enjoyed the listen.
  10. I really enjoyed the lyrics Bjorn - they are impressive in this song. Quite a sad song, as David mentions. You know, I thought your vocal was pretty good, and I liked the fx you used on it - it fit the mood of the song.
  11. I liked the giddy-up vibe of the groove - very cool. As always, I enjoyed your vocal - on this track it had some grit to it. I really liked the bass line as well - that was well played and sounds quite good in the mix. I liked the burps - nice touch there - funny. Overall the mix sounds good to me - well done.
  12. I'm glad you liked the song Barry - thanks.
  13. Thanks for the comments - I appreciate it.
  14. Thanks for listening Tom.
  15. Thanks for your kind comments David - I appreciate it. Improvise while tracking vocals - I just sing what seems right for the song - and I'm always changing the lyrics as I go along. Also, I try to figure out what the best mic is for the song.
  16. Thanks Nigel - I'll give those cymbals another listen. Regarding AD2, I just output the final track on a drum buss - I do my mixing using the mixer in AD2. Thanks for listening.

    ....

That was a bit different from your usual stuff - as always I enjoyed your lead vocal. Mark mentioned David Byrne - yeah I could hear a bit of that in this one. Cool song - well done.
  18. Thanks Bjorn - I'm glad you liked it.
  19. Thanks for your comments Paul - I appreciate it.
  20. I really liked the drum track on this one - they sounded really good - what did you use here? This is a bit different from the music I've heard from you recently - this one is a bit more of an instrumental rock song - perhaps progressive rock. There was a lot going on in the mix, but you made it work - well done.
  21. That was epic - I enjoyed this composition very much - would sound great on a movie soundtrack.
  22. Thanks Kloon - I like the hip hip hooray as well - cheers.
