Hard drives are cheap. How big is your boot drive?
You can buy a 2.5" 2TB bare drive for under $60** and a 30day trial for Acronis True Image 2020 for free.
https://www.acronis.com/en-us/homecomputing/thanks/acronis-true-image-2020/
and if all goes well you can keep the backup and later if need you it then buy a licensed version or wait till they have a sale.
Note that there are other good backup programs and some decent free ones - I've just been using Acronis for years and have been happy with it.**a quick google search came up with 4 deals on 2.5" 2TB drives.
Granted they're bare drives, but that's really all you need.
The reason I mentioned 2.5" drives is that all you need to run one (connect it to your PC for use) is an adapter cable (and assuming that your USB ports are up to spec - no power supply or power cable needed).
You can get SATA to USB cables dirt cheap.
USB 3.0 to SATA III Adapter Cable with UASP SATA to USB Converter for 2.5" Hard Drives for $6.99
or on EBay for $2.78
SATA/SSD/HDD Drive to USB 2.0 Adapter Converter Cable for 2.5 Hard Drive TopIf you already own an HD docking station then you can save $10 or more per drive by buying 3.5" versions.
I appreciate that you're trying to bring deals to me, but saying that it doesn't take much money isn't going to cause the money I need to make the purchases to magically appear on my lap.
Besides, any money that comes my way is going to towards helping a friend not die from a spider bite.

As was pointed out by others, not doing anything also carries a risk.
I was scared about the update as well a long time ago, (would my far more expensive I/O hardware stop working with the lack of drivers)? So I waited until others took the plunge, I was not an early adopter in the update. Plenty of risk staying where I was though.
That's just wrong. I don't have the kind of money or tools to mitigate the risk.

Valerie , sounds like a tremendous amount of work went into this one , I especially liked the bowed sounding instrument coming in just before the half way point. Sounds like a killer track for a vr game or video. I really liked this , it was quite a change from what I usually listen to. Very Impressive ... mark
Thank you! That was a really nice aleatoric violin loop included with Cinematrix. In fact that whole Kontakt instrument and the fact that I was writing this in 7/8 are responsible for a lot of the unconventional decisions I've made for this track. I then added 2 Bass patches from Ultra Analog VA-3, two of my own design, one arpeggiated and the other manually scored for some low end reinforcement, and another one of my own keyboard patches for the bell-like riff at the middle. A lot of side-chains were involved to make the spaces fit.

It has been known for a long time Win7 would no longer get support and they offered Free updates for a very long time.
Upgrading from Win 7 always carries a risk, and I don't want to end up bricking something that is mission critical.

As of Jan 14th 2020 Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft ... Windows 7 will receive its last updates on that date. Then watch out for many other software companies no longer deving and supporting Windows 7
Ahh yes, allow me to just pull a Windows 10 PC out of my ***** with money I don't have, just to use software. Brilliant.

An Industrial Cinematic Progressive Ambient theme for an underground mine where death does not happen, and the miners just continuously fall apart without stopping. I used Cinematrix and Ultra Analog VA-3

Oh hell yeah, I got it!

While I got Ultra Analog VA-3 mainly for the sound design aspect, having extra presets to work with is always good! Thanks AAS!

Reverb just tends to mud the sound if applied too liberally. If you can find the ADSR settings, you can increase the release time.

Product Page : http://rigid-audio.com/products_sore.html
This seems to be another Rigid Audio Cinematic Loop Underscoring instrument using the same engine as Cinematrix. I wonder how it is going to be distinguished from it, considering that its interface looks exactly like that of Cinematrix.

I do not seem to own that expansion pack - which is odd, because I have loads of them. I actually do not have Dim Pro installed, because I have Rapture Pro, and that plays all the Dim Pro sounds, in addition to any Rapture Pro sounds.
I tried to load the two customized patches you posted above, but they do not seem to play in Rapture Pro, on my system.

It appears to be Dimension V02 from DSK.

I think I may have found a close match, it's a patch from the DSF Classic Keys, under Atmospheres called Synth Jumper. I also went ahead and made custom versions with more modulations on the Jupiter 8 layer, and with an extra Grand Piano layer added. It should work, provided you own the DSF Classic Keys expansion.

All I can hear on the demos for the downloads is extremely distorted heavy metal type sounds, even on standard guitar.
Yeah, I agree that the demo really isn't a pure representation of the instrument, but I can assure you, it's clean DI.

I used amp and cabinet sims and I just couldn't get a sound I was happy with. I am sure it can be done but I am just not smart/experienced enough at this point to make it happen. I envy those of you who can.
What sort of amp sims did you try?

Start + Run
taskkill /IM Cakewalk.exe /F
I have tried that before, and it didn't work. While it did eventually kill Cakewalk, the ASIO drivers are still occupied and will not be available after a relaunch.

Yeah, the fact that this is all on one patch, and with no keyswitching is suspicious.
