  10. I heard of this theory, I think it was a famous politician, that if you stop looking for viruses, maybe they won't be there? So you could just disable Bitdefender for 5 minutes and whatever it found might actually be gone. Worst case scenario, if your computer does get infected, you could simply inject some disinfectant into the RAM, I hear that might work, too.

  14. Cool! I live in Alameda, which is where the Matrix movies' VFX are done, and some of the exterior set-based action sequences. The freeway set may still be decomposing out at the former Navy base, Alameda Point. (Prior to What Dreams May Come, we were known for being the home of Skippy peanut butter, creators of the first "stable" peanut butter, as well as Listo, who invented the grease pencil/China marker) Last year, Keanu was spotted getting a cone at the Baskin Robbins in the shopping center a few blocks from my place. It made the local paper. Alameda has a real small town vibe. Keanu could sit on a bench and enjoy his cone without being hassled. https://www.kron4.com/news/bay-area/keanu-reeves-apparently-spotted-in-alameda/

  16. Best way I found is if you have enough JP, buy 100 gear credits ($99) and use 30 JP to bring the price down to $70. Then use those 100 GC to buy MB2 in the CS. Other than that, it's use the $20 discount or pay the full $99.

  22. I liked the sounds in Swatches. The flute sounds kind of synth-y, and the guiro (not my #1 orchestral instrument, really) sounds like a cat yakking up a hairball, but the rest are excellent. As with any A|A|S soundpack I don't have the synth for, they have a lot of reverb baked in.

  23. I like Humanized! Funny thing is that I thought it was new, so I listened to all the demos and said "gotta get that one". Then I discovered that I already had it, LOL!!! ?

  26. Hi Everybody, This is a track off of the album "The Westerly Sessions Volume II". It's a bit of a jazzy number, and it gave me a chance to use the AD2 jazz brush kit. Anyway, see what you think of it, and as always, thanks for listening. Here it is: https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14078299

  40. Hey Mark . . . you are master of that smooth guitar groove. (Hey! I can totally use this for neck exercises after a stressful day, cuz' I'm just luvin' it, makes my head swivel) Your comment up top makes me think you want to add vocal to it, make it a song with lyrics . . . well, as you know there would be difficult decisions about which tasty licks to move back in the mix. I think it would work well as a song, or a guitar groove. Of course, I would lean towards making a song from it . . . maybe a repetitive groove melody (with harmonies) could work . . . it seems to suggest that to me. After the guitar intro . . . at 0.25 I tried singing some random vocals, and I found there is a very obvious vocal groove there, easy to find, very jazzy . . . I made it about "winding down" after a long day . . . this could totally be a chill out after a long work day commute, like it was for me Anyways, you did ask for suggestions . . it's so musical, it could be sung in a lot of directions, but I heard a jazz vocal, with lots of possibilities.

  41. This will probably not be a popular opinion, but I think the forum improved after the crossover to the new server. The old one had some great info (I still glean stuff from it today), but it had too much of the "if it's crashing or otherwise not working, it's YOUR fault" vibe that product forums sometimes take on. It also still had plenty of folks who were righteously wee-wee'd off about their recently purchased "forever" Platinum licenses. They felt poorly done by, and I sympathize. Nobody knew then that with Cakewalk by BandLab, the program may well be better than it would have been had Gibson kept Cakewalk, Inc. on life support. The fact that none of us have to invest any money, or if we did (I did 20 years ago), we probably agree that the payoff is worth it probably has something to do with it. With payware, there is an emotional investment and a desire to help the company keep the coins rolling in so that they can stay solvent. With Cakewalk, if someone says "that's it, I'm giving up, going with Studio One," that's really nothing, except good for PreSonus. I freakin' love CbB and like to help people use it, but if someone thinks that one of the other DAW's works better for them, good for them and I hope it helps them make their music. Still no time for trolls, though. Express your frustrations as politely as possible, then please be gone. I've seen something happen here that is almost unique in my 30 years of experience with online forums: topics that start as flame bait turning into useful discussions, with or without apologies. That is freaking weird. And it's really the best revenge on a troll. "Sorry, we'll just use your flamebait as fuel for a discussion that might help someone." Here's to my forum beratnas (sorry, just finished the last book of The Expanse saga)!

  43. I already posted this link BandLab support is another point of contact. The main support page is https://help.bandlab.com/hc/en-us I suggested the name change because it is something one can do immediately and not have to wait on BandLab to respond.

  44. So it looks like the $49 upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 is a great way to get another year of Groove3 for half price.

  46. I listened to the demos of AAS Analog Orchestra, and I'm not sold yet. Some organic instruments sound good when emulated on an analog synth, such as the synth flute, and maybe some synth strings. But others don't sound all that musical to me. Kind of a throwback to the early synth days, pre-sampler. Thank goodness for the high quality sample libraries of organic instruments available to us today! I think this is where advanced physical modeling of organic instruments has a better chance for making a musical sound. It would have been interesting to see how this would turn out if the sounds were designed in Chromaphone. IMO Ultra Analog VA-3 was developed to physically model an analog synth, not organic instruments. YMMV.
