Nope, it was me. I have to learn that I have to "leave political comments out of music discussions". I guess well known memes mentioning some former politician from years ago qualify. I'm inclined to mention a former prime minister of the Netherlands in this post to see if that will lock this thread too, but I'm not one to stir the pot. And as it seems necessary, this last sentence in no way a reference to a former leader of Cambodia with that name. I'll stick to not making jokes. Sorry guys. I didn't know.

Just a suggestion to the mods for the future. Why not simply delete the post itself? Another forum I frequent does that. They won't kill the whole thread over some random left field comment. They just delete ONLY the post that didn't fit.

Not to be dense, but can’t the mod just delete the offending post and re-open the thread now? Doesn’t the mod have the ability to do that? It’s pretty obvious at this point that the initial move may have been somewhat of an overreach, albeit an unintentional one.

Geez, I never even saw the offending comment and now the entire thread is gone ? That really seems a bit extreme. Why can’t they just delete the offending comments or even lock out the offending poster. This sets a bad precedent for giving any errant poster the ability to shut down any thread at will.

Seems mods get notified about keywords because not even regulars could keep up with the posts. I suggest we all go to KVR thread and post highly controversial subjects on their ik thread to see if we can get it locked and/or deleted hahah

I agree! Giving information that may help developers is one thing, judging them is another. After a long carreer in software development I know things are not as simple as they appear. Constructive feedback can help both the users and IK. If this is something that can be fixed, it reduces support calls, makes for a better user experience and increase sales. Everybody wins. Support has answered that they are looking into it, which is just fine by me. Let us just be patient. BTW, you are welcomed this side of the border anytime! 👍

It might be racist or gender insensitive (I can never remember) to exclude poly synths from participating. My turn to get my coat.

Our devs aren't lazy and we test on some pretty low-spec machines as well. I understand being frustrated but that shouldn't lead to conjecture and insulting developers. Edit - and increased load times on some machines might be why it sounds better (like our tape machines) I'm secretly Canadian.

This turned into an interesting topic on process. My process has evolved over time, but nowadays I tend to record the basic scratch tracks over a drum loop, then go back in and record the live drums over it once I've laid everything down. I'll re-record guitar, bass and keys or whatever if necessary. That way I can get the song written without worrying about timing. The other reason I do this is that I find it difficult to play to a click track for an entire song - it tends to make my playing overly conservative, easier to play over the loop. Of course this has little to do with the question, but I found John's comments interesting.

I combined the upgrade voucher with my $25 monthly voucher, got it down to $25, so not really that bad. Honestly I'm not sure there is a lot of meat on the bone for upgraders though. The new UI is actually cleaner and seems nice (don't judge it by the screenshots). The presets seem the same and the sound is about the same. I'd have to dig in to find what's new other than the GUI though, since couldn't find any guide on the website/ads/emails.

My problem with Amplitube is using it without spending an hour or more experimenting / jamming out with different sounds. It's a rabbit hole I keep happily falling down, but I think I need some kind of timer to tell me I've just spent an hour playing around. I respect the guys that go in, strategically find what they need and get going.

I did, works well and I certainly prefer one program open vs two.
