  1. Been holding off on Amplitube Brian May, finally got it as one of my freebies. OMG it is fun and good! Don't mean to derail from our topic but that is a goldie!

  2. Not a derail! Great input for anyone thinking of jumping in the GB. 👍 Compared to other of the tracks comment we have done here, yours is helpful! I will add this pack to my freebies list!

  3. On the topic of full Kontakt libraries not appearing in the graphical libraries tab, it's well worth familiarising yourself with the "Quick load" panel; it's like setting up bookmarks in your browser. Once you get your libraries bookmarked there, it's actually more convenient than to scroll through a long list of player-compatible libraries and its a million times easier than browsing your hd to find the library each time you want to use it. I have only been collecting Kontakt libraries for a short while, I don't have a huge number and I categorise mine by company name, then library name, and then I have the instrument and any snapshots in the next level down. At some point it might be worth organising them by instrument type. The great thing is there's nothing stopping you from having kontakt libraries categorised in more than one way if you like, so I could add a second set of category folders in addition to the company name ones. Another tip is I have found some larger full Kontakt libraries can be slow to load initially. There's a "batch re-save" feature that helps Kontakt avoid having to search for files during loading, which can speed the initial load time before the library UI appears from as long as a minute, down to a few seconds. Not every library needs it, but for those that take a minute to load its a real disincentive to use them. After batch re-saving, they load much faster.

  7. I like Fender 2 better than 1, the Mesa Boogie amps are awesome, both SVX bundles rock for bass, I like the Marshall amps in Slash. I haven't delved in to Satch, Brian May or Dimebag yet because I just picked them up.

  10. A new EA build has been posted that includes fixes for several reported issues and numerous improvements. Please check it out and report back if you encounter any problems. In particular please look at the new export folder source category and the improved handling of aux tracks and sidechains when exporting or soloing tracks. Anyone who had issues with soft synths or tempo changes not rendering properly please check out this build. @Terry Kelley hopefully your problems with the last beta should be resolved. @Promidi @chimkin2 does the folder export and improved sidechain handling cover your requirements? Happy labor day weekend!

  11. Now if IK could just refine the color scheme in SampleTank 4, to make it easier on the eyes, and a few workflow issues, then they would have a total winner! The sounds are already awesome, and in some ways I really prefer it to NI Kontakt 6. I think that's great that they can now include 3rd party sound designers! But IK could improve the user experience a bit more...

  15. Yep, I also got Satch for the Rockman. Instant great memories. The distortion sound is the Boston sound of course, but can be adapted a lot with other gear. My Rockman gear is also in dire need of TLC. 😟 The one in AT5 should last forever. 😄

  16. I just picked up that and Satch. Satch inspired me to get my old Rockman working. It's way too much fun!

  18. You could try FlexASIO along with FlexASIO GUI. It allows you to specify different input and output devices and can be seen in ARC 3. https://github.com/dechamps/FlexASIO/releases https://github.com/flipswitchingmonkey/FlexASIO_GUI/releases

  19. True story: I dodged that bullet once because I coulnd't be bothered to pick them up from a bar they were at some 10 minutes from my house. They were colleagues of mine. Found out later they both had herpes 😂 Ahem, back to plugins...

  20. I can confirm this - there was a library I missed when I bought the huge Total Max 2 bundle and when I brought it to IK's attention they let me have another 180 day window to download the files (and all the others I had downloaded already)

  25. Keep in mind you can try them all using the Custom Shop and decide from there. That said, if I could only pick one, it would be Fender (ok, ok, that's two)

  27. I missed a "small box" Marshall 50 Plexi once, it was just over the border in Vancouver. I was trying to be sure I could "run" up there and pick it up. Should have "pulled the trigger". But I did get a 50 (not a small box, '71, poor man's plexi with the alum. faceplate; did have the "laydown" mains hand wired turret board, mustard all over the caps [that's important ya know]) from a fellow in Reno, I was headed that way for an event and he also had a Tall Vintage cab filled with Green Backs, so it all worked out... t We're talkin' plugins right? you plug it into the wall, plug in your guitar, plugin the speaker cab; that's plugins; right?

  28. Can't help but wonder if they would have done better if they priced their keyboards a little lower. I always had a slight interest in them, but they were far too expensive for me to justify.

  31. There are quite a few good juans in the complete Chromaphone collection. I have them all. So now I'm trying to make time to go through each and every library and "star" the ones that sound the best to me. Got to narrow down the list a bit to just my favorites, or risk getting lost in the endless pile of cool random sounds, LOL!

  32. Have you checked out this preset in the factory library, a pad called "Restless Alchemist". Responds to velocity with a very nice response! The layers are "Liquid Guitar" and "Analog Pad". So a nice plucked, almost harp-like attack, with a smooth pad finish... So like you said, "Heaven".

  34. I don't either, but the checkout process (before payment) suggests shipping (and requires a UK address) and no option for digital delivery...so I'm weary of putting in a UK address to fulfill the order only to simply be out the monies. Thus wondering if anyone tried...

  36. Something also to be aware of... The CHEAP Libraries are not "Player" compatible, and therefore will NOT show up on the Library tab. You'll have to navigate to the files using Windows Explorer or through the browser in Kontakt. Kontakt Player Libraries are more expensive, as the Dev has to pay a larger fee to NI, but they WILL show up on the Library tab in Kontakt. They usually tend to be "better" also.

  37. Dont' forget my favorite, Orange Tree Samples. And so many others...oh, wait...you said "cheap," they are not, unless you get one of their deals and build up "orange slices" discounts, plus their annual group buy--which has recently ended for this year. Maybe Black Friday will bring some bargains. The quality is outstanding; I think it's well worth it.

  44. OK much more than two days, DarkStar has posted their graph and others have some data showing a bit of a slowdown since the extension was announced which is expected. So it isn't time to panic but if there is anybody you know on the fence they may want to get in sooner rather than later so others continue to have confidence in the progress. Especially if they are looking to join with the ARC 3 + microphone because that is a physical item that ships and entry is unlocked after receipt and registration of the product. So we do have those factors to consider, just to be realistic and to give neither false hope or instill too much fear. We're about "even" right now I'd say, and I know there are many here who are multiple dippers (that still doesn't sound great) so I thank you and will not ask you to squeeze that stone again. I still believe we'll get to 20,000 but it won't be a.... Cakewalk. (I'll get my coat)

  45. I did a video on EZBass, and while I love so many things about it, the way it is sampled is really weird. To me, it's such a serious fault that I don't think I'm going to buy any more of their basses. Not when there are so many good ones out there. They worked so hard on all the details of EZBass that I can't understand how they could have messed up this very simple thing. This video starts at the right spot to show you what I'm talking about. To me it's just natural to expect a bass to start each string with the open string sound. A lot of other basses are sampled in different ways. ujam basses have an algorithm tsort this out. I have Trilian, MODO Bass, the OTS Evolution Roundwound Bass, Modwheel's the Lowdown, all the ujam basses, so what do I need more basses for? I am curious about Steinberg's Sampled Electric Bass, which samples every note on all the strings and then lets you pick various styles that favor different parts of the fretboard. It excels in the area that EZBass is most deficient. It's $129 and I keep waiting for them to put it on sale, but they haven't yet. https://www.steinberg.net/vst-instruments/electric-bass/
