  1. I beat Larry to a deal once. Nobody cared 😪

  2. I agree with the sentiments here. AD2 has been my “go to” for a few years, but the world has moved on. Six months ago I asked here on this very forum, were there alternatives to S Gear, another one time leader in its field, and my go to amp sim for years. The answer was a resounding “yes”, and I hardly use S Gear anymore. You cannot sit still and expect to remain at the top.

  7. https://ugritone.com/collections/midipacks/products/allmighty-midi-pack Get this and never look back. Always tempted to get one of these packs. The larger developers just don't seem to nail these styles right. The best kit for these are Stigmatized Drummer.

  14. Did you miss the "stoopid" part? I do believe I have Melda's super duper turbo compressor along with every IK one. Just in case my 879 other compressors fail. I feel better I didn't buy another EQ.

  15. Hey, thanks for sharing my library and other instruments! All the swearing was edited out in post. ;) Agreed! That's why I included the option to download everything (plus a few extras) when someone signs up for my Email List.

  16. Cakewalk did not offer physical media for Platinum. You will have to create the disks yourself. The installers are available in your old Cakewalk account. Addictive Drums and Melodyne are managed by their respective companies. XLN Audio has a universal installer for their products. It is available at their site Melodyne should be downloaded directly from your Celemony account. With the exception of these two products, the rest of Platinum should be installed using the Cakewalk Command Center. The installers used by the Cakewalk Command Center are the same as the installers in your old Cakewalk Account. They are cached on your PC. The default location is C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads. Cakewalk By BandLab can use everything bundled with 64 bit Platinum. CbB started with the Platinum code base so the DAW is very similar to Platinum except it does not include most of the plug-ins and content bundled with Platinum. Of course, CbB has been updated regularly since BandLab purchased the code. Currently BandLab recommends performing a full install of SONAR Platinum then install CbB.

  18. The advantage to DPLE at the time was a smaller memory footprint. Given the machines available when SONAR 7 was released this could have been important. Like the full DP, DPLE is more than a single dll. While simple VST2 plug-ins may be installed using a copy process from one machine to then next, as a rule, if a plug-in has an installer it is best to use the installer. A simple copy process cannot add registry entries or provide other setup activities that may be performed by an installer. DPLE has numerous support files and registry entries so this would be a case where an advanced installed of a 64bit version of SONAR containing the plug-ins is the best solution. It is possible to avoid the standing BandLab recommendations regarding SONAR installation prior to performing a CbB install...sure. It all depends on what the user expects to find after performing the CbB upgrade. If it is ever necessary to actually install an older Cakewalk DAW after installing CbB, the old installer may overwrite some of the contents in the shared folders. If this happens it may be necessary to uninstall/reinstall CbB to get the latest shared files back. Not that big a deal but may be avoided with a little planning and careful building of a new install. This is why in other threads where user mentioned wanting to install things like V-Vocal - there is an order to the install process along with suggestions about the installation options to take.

  24. I suspect you might be asked to supply a screen shot of just after you insert the VST, to see why you should need to collapse the added track.

  29. BandLab Assistant uses an internet connection to download/activate/reactivate new Cakewalk by BandLab installs and updates. Reactivation happens any time CbB is updated. The is no requirement to update but reactivation must happen at least every 6 months. An internet connection is not necessary to run CbB.

  30. I liked it. Very moody and evocative. I can hear this as background music for an animation. The two note bass figure sounds very timpani-ish, maybe doubled with a huge Taiko drum. Very cool. I'd fix that title, though. 🙂

  33. Beautifully balanced mix, clean, wide and up-front without any harshness. And not drenched in FX, thank you. Great performances across the board. Kudos for taking on such a challenging tune to cover. I wouldn't have had the patience!
