Why is it creating new track when copy/paste MIDI clips?

This is new anomaly, unless it is some kind of new feature. Why is it that I select clips- by holding Control button and clicking on the MIDI clips in track, then activate (select?) another track to which I want  to paste, and instead of it pasting there, it creates another MIDI track with the same name (Nexus- software synth) as the one I copied from? Looks like it copies/duplicates the whole track instead of copying clips. Thank you.
