Loss of computer keyboard shortcuts

I have a strange issue... Suddenly during working I loose the computer keyboard shortcuts, so space does not work for start stop, P does not work for Preferences  etc. etc. However, if I for example click on a track name, the keyboard still works for input so it seems to be related to shortcuts rather than to the keyboard itself. So far, I have not been able to find a solution other than restarting the application. This is sort of frustrating. I think it might be related to opening plugin windows, but I am not sure. Is there a setting I don't know about?
