Anyone have experience with Tone Junkie TONEX captures?  I've heard Amalgam talked up to death but not these guys.  Not sure I need them but it would save having to scroll through endless free captures on the IK Tonex site.

I've only ever tried some of their free captures, and I found them mostly to be too bright for my liking.

I own everything TJ has released and have quite a few Amalgam packs.  At the deep discount price, I'd probably say get the Everything pack.  It will be complete (but also hit or miss on what sounds great).

Where I think TJ shines is in both of the Sinewave Continuum packs.  The new OD has V2 captures.  However, the normal Continuum is one of the best V1 releases from anyone looking for a clean platform in the Two-Rock / Dumble space.  They are both "go to" packs for me for that sound, and I have Dumble, Two-Rock, Fuchs captures from others including Amalgam.    (note the Continuum and Continuum OD are two different amps, and also captured with two different tonex versions)

I like the voicing of the Marshall Astra but I'm hoping he upgrades them to V2 (also hope he upgrades a number of his amps as I think V2 could make the amps he does have more appealing in the sonic and feel departments).

He only has about 3-4 amps with the V2 captures thus far.  I have tons of experience with Tonex and while every capture is different V2 when done right, is in fact on a different level than what v1 was capable of.

Don't be afraid to use the EQ controls to bring out the best in the captures.

I also think Amalgam can be hit or miss too, but overall do like his capture process and really hope he does V2 upgrades on many of the amps that I have.

I'll be coming to market with some commercial amp captures myself in the near future with some massive packs and things no one else has done (one of which I expect to be the biggest / most impressive /special release anyone has ever done).
