timboalogo Posted Monday at 10:10 PM Posted Monday at 10:10 PM Well this song's not going to get any better sitting on the shelf so I'll post it. Please have at it. This political song is filled with my personal angst against today's machine. It's a critique of power as it is held today - distracting the plebes from what’s actually happening. It just came to me one day while I was playing with drums and filters. There are no synths just 2 different filters on the original drum track. Just my strat and bass guitar and my Alice Cooperesque vocals. Enjoy. Hurray patron saint takin selfies down on main street : while you give him life and limb serve me, kiss my gold ring : or i'll nail your tongues to the wall glass birds drink the thunder : beneath the black confetti sky waving the starry flag down on main street : while his satellites line his sky leaders dancing in the crosshairs : brave man hides behind the glass
PhonoBrainer Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I like the sardonic "hurray!" And whatever that quickly slap backing perussivevthing is on the two and four. Amazing vocal effects. The hurray is given a bit of telephone eq, which sits well in the track to my ears. Perhaps you might try ducking a little more low eq away from the verse vocals, to get a bit less masking down there? 400Hz maybe? I thought it a very quality and enjoyable listen.
