Can't say that I've ever needed to convert between tuning standards (A440, A432, etc.) or likely to at this point, but nice to know a tool is there if the need arises.

Me neither! But it's a topic that seems to have a lot of believers and advocates (as well as plenty of critics!) but I have read interviews about engineers being asked to perform the function for customers at times.

I can believe it.  If you're a staff engineer in a studio you run into a lot of 'different' people. 
When I was an engineer I came in to do a session one day and all the windows into the studio were covered up. The studio manager explained to me that they had a session earlier with a woman who could only sing her best while nude.   I neither saw the woman (clothed or not) nor heard her music so I can't comment on the results.
