Moving clips x bars to exact position?

Hi!

How do you move a bar e.g. 4 bars to a different position, but so that it is in time? I know there is snap and grid...if the file is new, I can set the snap feature to 1/1, then move the file perfectly...but when my recorded file has e.g. four shouts in it, I delete the first, second and fourth one, then use the start and end markers to use the third shout only...then move this short file, using snap no longer works. What am I doing wrong?

This is a recording...I want to use the y part only...I use the start and end of the file and move them closer...so it becomes y only...by getting rid of the xs visually.
But then the snap feature no longer works.

Wait, I'll use a screenshot. The first recording is fine...is in time, but I decide to use it 4 bars earlier... Then I decide to use the underlined middle part only. I move the left and right edges...then I have the sample I want... but this sample is 4 bars too late so I use snap and move it 4 bars forward, BUT it is no longer in time although the full file before adjusting the edges was.
