husker Posted yesterday at 03:15 PM Posted yesterday at 03:15 PM So, what has everyone got this season? I used to go pretty crazy during the BF sales, but I've really pared back the last few. Too much stuff as it is. This year, I picked up: UVI SonicBundle - upgraded all my ancillary UVI products to the full bundle - total $279 Updated to Cubase 15 and Dorico 6 - $178 2025 Samples From Mars - $27 EastWest Lofi/Voices of Passion - $39 So, I did pretty good this year. I also sold a hardware synth to fund a new Motu 16A audio interface. For big hardware setups, AVB is awesome! 5

PhonoBrainer Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Nothing but shame, and Cherry audio Trident $57 Vi labs Model D, $159 UA waterfall organ, Leslie, and 1176 compressor bundled for $49 Neural Dsp Morgan, 49 euro and Matteo, 59 euro But I received and spent time reading a million emails, and spent many many hours pouring over and analyzing different third party vendors, all so I could save about $300. So not too shabby I suppose. 5

Craig Fowler Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I held back on some things that I wanted but don't have an immediate need for (e.g., updating from Korg Collection 5 -->6, a Roland synth, SY85 emulation from Gospel Musicians, StraightAheadSamples Soprano sax). The things I bought were: Softube Atlantis Chambers ($41). With the extra 25% code, it came down to a price which is *way* lower than I've seen it before. UAD's Ocean Way Studios ($49). I've used the DSP version for years, and the native update has quite a number of new features. Embertone Honky Tonk Harmonica ($29). I'm finding lots of uses for instruments I think of as 'seasonings' to be used sparingly (e.g., Xperimenta's accordians) so I'm looking forward to playing with this. FabFilter Multiband compressor ($129). I had been considering getting Softube's Drawmer or TubeTech MBC, but neither were on sale, and I had a loyalty discount with Fabfilter on top of the 25% BF price. Plus, FF stuff is just ridiculously flexible and their tutorials are great. Plugin Alliance ProAudioDSP DSM V3. ($6 after virtual cash). It got me IK Mixbox (free) - I must be the only person not to have already had a copy. SSL saturator ($8). Bought purely as a means to getting... EW Voices of passion (free). So, $262 USD all in. I feel quite virtuous compared to some of the big spenders on VI-Control, but at this point anything else I buy is really just because I like shiny new things, not because I have anything missing. Toontrack midi packs for SD/EZD might be the exception! 4

If you use the inbuilt effects, or mainly presets, then Pigments for sure as their effects are way better than Hive. But I really love Hive too and as soon as you use other plugins as effects it really shines. Pigments is more feature rich though..if I had to pick one, I'd go that first based on capability. That said, everything is really accessible and simple for programming Hive on the flipside. Its not a bad problem to have either way, as they're both fun 🤣 4 1
