Top tier freebies,  thanks for the heads up! Got the choir free with SSL saturator for 8 bucks!

A friend told me he'd read that the EW installer was a weird one. Any opinion?

I've never had a problem with it.  As far as installers go, it's one of the better ones.

The EW installer has always worked fine here....

The only issue I have with EW is that they only give you one iLok activation.

Because I had JUST popped $159 for Model D

EDIT, I now realize I bought the VI Labs Model D which plays in the UVI player.

After further review, the AudioDeluxe freebie is indeed something called Model D, but the piano screenshot is different, and it has a regular price if just $49.

SO,it may be a lite version, but it doesn't say that.

Not sure what you bought.

This is UVI Model D, it's only available in Key Suite, and it's been a freebie before.

Please tell me that you didn't pay that much for UVI Model D. 😨

Next question about EastWest. Is it cloud based? That is to say, do i need to be online to use it or can I download to my HD like any VST and use it in my DAW without having to connect?

Rumor has it they give you an extra is you contact support.   I did this with their recent libraries.

Right, so there is an option for iLok to machine authorize?

physical iLok which I prefer, or authorized on your system drive which is a hassle replacing a drive since you have to email every developer to reset authorization

I just did the "Report as Unusable" thing in iLok because I had changed the GPU and iLok decided I'm on a new PC.

It's basically just one click and 90% of the developers let you reset the authorizations immediately. Some might take a day or two.

I bought United Plugins WideFire to get EastWest Voices of Passion for $3!

That gave that away at launch, but I like it and would be worth the $3.

I never authorize anything iLock on my system drive. IMO It's too risky as hard drives are usually very busy devices on any computer and inevitably will fail one day. I always choose cloud activation (the safest way to use a license, IMO) or a physical dongle (that i insure for a mere $30/year with the Zero Downtime plan).

I got the DDMF Plugin Doctor for $19.50 with the Voices of Passion gift.

When I wanted to use an EastWest product on an offline pc, I had some installation trouble although I was using a physical iLok. But their support was very friendly and helpful. They explained how to install it on my online laptop and then copy parts to the offline machine. This worked well, but it was not standard. I don't know if this is still the case?
