Some that have this would buy it again.  I guess it has stood the test of time and is still used.

The drawback is still uses the older Play engine and iLok.

Yes, the one on sale in the link is not the current version and is very outdated by now. I don't think Play is being developed any longer since EWQL switched to their new sample player Opus more than four years ago.

The current version is also on sale from EWQL and others, I believe I saw it for $129, which is more than $100 less than I paid for it last year.

I should have demoed it first with a month of the Composer Cloud subscription. While many people are happy with it, I was not, I may never use it.

From what I can tell the EastWest Symphonic Orchestra was also updated to use the Opus player.  I was considering this purchase but have decided to get the Hollywood Orchestra bundle.  I haven't made my purchase yet and would be very interested in why your were disappointed?

As you mentioned, the EastWest Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition can be found for $125 at Thoman Music.

I use EWQLSO in Opus...a lot more than Hollywood Orchestra. Depends on what your working on, EWQLSO is for more traditional classical use and the Hollywood Orchestra is for more bombastic stuff such as soundtrack work. They're both good libraries, check them out! I paid a fortune for EWQLSO Platinum when it came out :)

Others have said this.

I wish I could have ignored this but since I had some FB settlement money in Paypal I went and bought it.
